April Angries

Does anybody else find this as annoying as I do?

I just spent a hugely inflated $21.95 AU on a Revlon Lip Butter (which already has made me frustrated) and then I take it home to find this.

I understand why they need the security tags, I truly do. It's not fair when people steal and we have to pay full price.
But it's also not fair for us ladies who are paying full price to take our lovely new product home and upon removing the security tag, find this.

Disgusting, sticky residue from the tag and sticky tape.

The first time I got the Lip Butters was from a Priceline in Melbourne CBD, and they did not have any of these security tags, and I was happy with all of my products. So why does my local Priceline have to do this to me?

Another example below of an Innoxa lipstick I have. (Sadly, this sticker is from Innoxa themselves, and I've found it really difficult to remove!)

So what do you think about this ladies? I think they need a better system when it comes to cosmetics, maybe something along the lines of the Korean store where everything is on a screen and you press what you want, then it's waiting for you at the counter. Except they still have testers.

Anyone have any handy tips for getting rid of the residue aside from sitting there for hours on end picking it off with my nails, or running it under steaming hot water as a shop attendant suggested to me. (I'm not going to submerge a lipstick or palette under hot water as it will damage the item in question - it's not always just on the lid!)

  1. Eucalyptus oil is supposed to be good to get off glue residue!

  2. Not sure if there's anything available in Aus like this, but I got a huge bottle of "Goo Gone" at a hardware store for a few dollars. It has literally lasted me a lifetime and a half and its still almost full! Basically it removes glue, gum, and other types of sticky residue from hard surfaces. :)

  7. The Innoxa ones are so annoying. I did a swatch of like 8 of their shades and it was so frustrating trying to peel them off just to open the damn thing.

  8. I know what you mean exactly. The Lip Butters I bought only had sticky tape around them but not the electronic tag, so they were relatively okay to remove. But the Innoxa one was nearly impossible :S I never knew they had that system in Korea, that sounds so nifty and a great way to prevent shoplifting.

    1. I think the electronic tag is the worst! But the Innoxa ones are even worse than that! :(
But that Korean system is fairly new, from what I've heard, it sounds like a great idea to me! Priceline would be amazing like that haha!

  9. If this was me I would send a very strong worded letter/email of complaint with the images attached! You never know, they may send a replacement or even some extra goodies! xo
