Nude by Nature Soft Focus Illuminator

Since receiving this in the Free Priceline Beauty Bag, I've been dying to try it out! I'm a big fan of Nude by Nature but I've yet to try this, so I decided to try it out today for my every day look and see how it goes.

I swatched it (below) and it looked a lot darker than what I was expecting. It was very brown and very glittery, which I guess is their idea of "illuminating." I was disappointed straight away, but decided to put it on my face anyhow.

Needless to say I was actually pleasantly surprised. After my instant disappointment of the much-too-dark colour, I decided it actually went on my face really well. Once I blended it in, it went on just like a moisturiser and my skin just soaked it up. So, thrilled with that, I continued with my usual makeup routine.  The tube says you can either try it underneath for "inner illumination" or on the outside of your makeup for a more extreme look. Obviously I chose the "inner illumination," fearing the glitter. I used a light liquid foundation so that my face would not be too heavy, just in case it overtook the illuminating cream. I'm happy I did, as I ended up with a really nice look, with a very subtle brightening to my face.

Before shots and after shots of my face. Yes, that's me without makeup. Pretty gross, I know! The after shot doesn't do the product a lot of justice, I think you really need natural light to really bring out that true illumination. Either way I felt it left my skin looking brighter, and I did get a couple of looks when I went out, which I hope were for a good reason! It made me feel beautiful, so I'm really happy with this product and would definitely suggest it to anyone wanting a pick-me-up to their usual makeup routine!

Has anyone else tried this product yet? What did you think of it?
