Revlon Colour Burst

I received the Revlon Colour Burst in the Priceline Free Beauty Bag deal. I was really excited to get this, as I've heard really good things and it retails for about $23.00! So to get this for free is a big deal to me!
I was instantly pleased with the colour! I was lucky enough to receive "Cherry Ice" and as you can see from the below photo, the colour is amazing!

Although I find with most Revlon lip products, they are not as rich and pigmented as they look. The below swatch was reapplied about five times to get that rich colour, and needless to say I was a little disappointed that it wasn't an instant red shock as it appeared.
I'm not usually a red lipstick person, I only own one other tube of red lippy, which is a very shocking red, which is why I think I was initially let down.

After applying to my lips however, only two or three coats away, I ended up with the below. Sadly I took that photo for the Priceline "Lip Tuesday" on twitter with my iPhone so the final result doesn't look amazing, but let me tell you it certainly changed my mind.

I'm not sure why the swatch on my arm needed so many layers to get the gorgeous look you see there, but my lips seemed to react a lot better with the colour. It was really moisturising as well, and didn't dry my lips out a lot.
It just goes to show me, yet again, not to judge a book by it's cover. I was instantly in love, then disappointed, then in love again! Such a whirlwind romance! ;)

Overall, I think I'll be wearing this lipstick a lot more than the other shocker red, probably because while this  red is still amazing, it's not as bright and crazy. I would say it's definitely worth buying again, and I'd like to try a few more colours!

  1. It's probably because combined with the natural colour of your lips, the colour showed up better than it did on your arm :) It's a gorgeous colour, I really like it!
