I thought I would share with you all the beautiful FOTD I created before I stepped outside the house and into the crazy weather of Melbourne today! This winter I've been experimenting with more shocking colours on my lips; as you'll see in my previous FOTD featuring Barry M Lip Paint! I find with brighter lipsticks I prefer to put them on, then wipe them off with a tissue to create a stained look instead. I think it also makes me look a bit more natural!
I've really been going for the more natural looking colours on my eyes these days. I feel they compliment me more, although tomorrow I may try with some colours and see how I go. If it looks half decent I may even take pictures!
As you can see I'm so sloppy when applying eye liner on the top lash-line. I usually do it when my eyes are open so that a) I can see exactly what I'm doing and b) so I can make sure it looks good whilst my eyes are actually open! I know, I know, it's bad and I should really stop, since I look like a crazy person when I do close my eyes!
The goodies I used:
Essence Soft Touch Mousse in 04 Matt Ivory, BYS Blusher in Coral, Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Fabulous Fig, Too Faced Natural at Night palette, Australis Mega Lash Mascara, Rimmel London Soft Kohl Eye liner in Black, and Essence Gel Eye Liner in London Baby.
I received this in the incorrect order from ozsale, and when I tried to return it, I felt a bit strange. They did not say that they would return the shipping costs, and although I don't have to pay for shipping, I still have to pay for a postage bag/box to send all the stuff back in! As much as I love ozsale, I figured it would be worth it to actually keep the lipsticks rather than go through a horrible returns process.
But about the actual lipstick! The moment I saw the name of this, I thought: "Yuck!" Not only do I hate figs, the colour just sounded awful. Probably because of the word fig. It was actually the last one I bothered to open, which I did this morning when I was looking for a different lipstick to wear. I figured I'd at least see how it goes on, and I actually liked the colour after applying it. It was a bit much so I opted for the stained effect and wiped most of it off with a tissue. Either way I think I'll be using this one more often!
Essence Soft Touch Mousse in 04 Matt Ivory
Can't get over the fact they misspelt "matte!" Aside from that little annoyance, I really, truly, absolutely love this make-up! It is so light weight and although it doesn't give you the same kind of coverage a liquid foundation would, it's actually the perfect alternative for me to wear to work! The oilier my skin gets, the more this make-up seems to soak it up! Which is fine with me. The first night of wearing it, I got home and felt far less greasy than usual. I'm not sure if it's this make-up or the new skincare I'm trying, but either way I love this!
Too Faced Natural at Night Palette
I decided to use the "Classic" colours for today, which aren't colours I'd used often. I started with "Night Light" all over the lid and up to the brow, brushed "After Hours" across my lid, and finished with "Eclipse" on my lash-line. Then smudged the crap out of it! I don't know how to blend very well since I don't bother watching tutorials (I know, bad Jasmine! I have no internet at home though and work forbids Youtube!) so I just sort of go with what I feel. I felt it turned out okay though!
Essence Gel Eye Liner in London Baby
London Baby is a brown eye liner. I'd never really thought I'd buy a brown eye liner, but I was wrong! The Essence gel liners are amazing; you can read my review here, so I won't talk too much about it. The brown is nice and subtle which I love, not as deep as black or silver even.
So what did you think about my FOTD? What coloured lipstick/eye shadow do you think I should try and share?
