Kit Cosmetics Nail Strips in Lace It Up

Hey beauties! Today I'm sharing with you my most recent manicure, using Kit Cosmetic's Nail Strips in "Lace It Up!" I picked this beauties up in a recent haul, here.
Nail strips are becoming increasingly popular, and when I first realised, I was against them for no particular reason! I figured they would probably destroy your nails and it would take a long time to get them healthy again. But I read more than a few reviews on the nail strips, particularly the Kit Cosmetics strips from a few Aussie bloggers, and they sounded great.

Ever since I saw the lace style nails, I lusted after them! So when I saw these in Mecca Cosmetica, I knew they had to be mine! The set gives you 20 precut sets of nails at a small price of only $9.95; which means you get two wears out of this one set! It's a great deal.

This was how it looked after I applied it. Application was a little tricky at first,  but then I realised I had the shapes upside down (which is why they weren't fitting into my natural nail shape!) and when I fixed it, application was a lot easier! The strips are ridiculously long though so I ended up being a cheapskate and reusing some of the ends of the strips for my smaller nails so as not to waste!

Frankly I was a little underwhelmed by how it ended up looking. Don't get me wrong, I love the lace! Love the effect, and it turned out with no bubbles or anything yucky like that. But I only wish that the white part could have been transparent, so you could apply lace over the top of any colour! Otherwise, I was pleased with it, and I got a lot of compliments whilst wearing them! They were comfortable and didn't peel easily, which was a plus.

This is how my nails looked after a week. As you can see there is a bit of wearing happening at the end, and a little bit has chipped off one of my nails. I knew it was time to remove them then.
Before I removed them however, I did try a sheer colour over the top to see how it looked, but it didn't look too good over the black. I stand by my idea that the white part should be transparent!

Removing them was very simple, they peeled off very easily. They do leave a strange sticky residue from the sticker so make sure you use nail polish remover afterwards to get rid of the residue.

All in all I'm impressed. They did last a long time without chipping and it was really fun to have such a unique look happening on my nails! I love these for special events or times when you really want to get noticed, so I'll definitely be buying more in different colours and patterns! I can't wait to try out my silver ones next!

Have you tried Nail Strips before, and if so, what did you think?
