I picked up the Essence Soft Touch Mousse make-up in my June Haul with a few other foundations, and I felt it was time to let you all know what I thought! Essence make-up is extremely cheap, this foundation being about $5.50
I got this in the lightest colour available which was 04 Matt Ivory. I'm not sure if there are any lighter colours available, but this one was fine for my skin, so it was not a problem at all.
As you can see it goes on in typical mousse fashion, and is very soft and light. I love mousse foundation, it's a lighter alternative to regular liquid foundation but holds better coverage than BB cream!
Take a closer look; which side of my face looks better?
As you can see it doesn't give 100% coverage (this is not using any concealer) but it does give a lovely matte finish.
As you can see it does make a considerable difference and definitely takes away an excess oil on my skin and creates a smoother finish. It doesn't cover absolutely everything, which leaves a more natural look.
Overall, I'm in love with this foundation! It's a great alternative to regular foundation and is something I can wear when I'm not feeling too dressy.
A pharmacist once told me that mousse make-up is only good for those with perfect skin already. I wouldn't say that's completely correct, but she's pretty close to the truth. I would never have been able to wear this kind of foundation before using the Kracie Moistage 3 Step System which has really cleared up my skin! (I sound like I'm advertising for them haha!)
Like I said, this doesn't cover everything. So if you have a lot of blemishes you need covering, I wouldn't recommend this. But if you've got average skin with just a few little bits you need to hide, then this is probably a nice foundation for you!
This has become one of my favourite foundations, something I use most days when I don't need to go anywhere! It definitely means I can leave the perfecting foundation for those special events, to make me look extra gorgeous!
I will be doing a Face of the Day shortly to show you the final results!
Have you tried this Essence product? Or any other Essence products that have pleasantly surprised you?
