E.L.F Eyes "Get The Look: Day to Night"

Today I received my "Get the Look" set from eyeslipsface.com.au! This is a limited edition set (my favourite!) and comes with two eye palettes of three colours each, a nifty little liquid eyeliner, a brightening pencil eyeliner, mascara and two little applicator brushes.

This particular palette was probably my favourite thing in the whole set. The green was what set it apart from other smokey eye palettes for me. I tried this one straight away and found the colours were very easily manageable and blended well with each other to create a lovely smokey evening look!

The second palette was more of a summery look. I haven't tried these colours properly yet, but they are lovely. They aren't as bright as they are on the palette, but they do blend well and give a bright, day-time look. It doesn't show up perfectly on the camera, but that final colour is more of an orange-gold look than the yellowy white you're seeing now. My favourite colour would probably be the purple in the middle.

The brightening eyeliner worked well enough for pencil eyeliner. It didn't smudge too badly and did stay put on the eye for a long time. Nothing special, I've used other eyeliners before and there is no real difference here.

The mascara in this pack was the biggest let down. You may not be able to see in the photo but the applicator end was very small and fat, and the product on the end of it was very dried out and clumpy. I tried it regardless, and it was so dry I don't think any mascara actually made it onto my eye lashes!
But considering the price of this set altogether, it's not a huge loss that the mascara didn't work out. And who knows, I may have just gotten a defective product! Either way, I won't be using the mascara again.

After looking at the mascara, I figured the liquid eyeliner would probably be similar to it. But I was wrong. This was probably the biggest surprise product in the set. The applicator was very sturdy and made it easy to apply the product, and the product itself was actually very smooth and quick to dry. It also has excellent staying power!
I will be using this product again and again, as I've always had major issues with other liquid eyeliners so I usually stick to the pots, but this one has changed my view entirely.

So over-all I would say this pack is well worth the money. Two excellent palettes, one excellent liquid eyeliner, one standard eyeliner, and one unfortunate mascara - the good outweighs the bad in this pack worth only $15.00! So give it a go and I'm sure you won't be disappointed (perhaps only by the mascara haha!).

E.L.F Essential Eye Shadow Palette - Limited Edition

I recently purchased the new E.L.F Limited Edition Essential Eye Shadow Palette from www.eyeslipsface.com.au - fortunatly the price mark-up in Australia wasn't half bad, most products still very reasonable for what they are. This palette being one of them!
With the words "Limited Edition" in the title, I was instantly compelled to buy this. On the screen, the colours looked amazing and the reviews were all fairly good.
I took a sample of the deep brown with my fingertip; the product is fairly pigmented but very glittery. So if you aren't a fan of the glitter, don't bother with this one! It goes on a little light when dry, I haven't tried it wet yet but I'm sure it would make a difference.

I tried the light glittery pink first and covered my eye lids, the colour was very light but very beautiful and natural looking. (if you don't count the glitter!) I put the gold colour on top and it looked very sweet, and then the colour beneath the gold.
I used these products without an eye-shadow primer, as I thought that they may be too glittery for me to wear to work and that I would take the product off straight away. But once I finished up, it really did look lovely, so I decided to give it a test run. So far, so good, it lasted all day long and stayed strong!

So over all I would say it was a great buy at only $9.99! Of course it's not as fabulous as some other palettes I've tried and own, but it's pretty darn good for that price, especially in Australia. So check out some of their other products. I did buy a bunch of other stuff, but I've yet to try it. So I'll review my other items once I have time to actually test them!

Bourjois Paris Liner Effect Mascara

Bourjois Paris Liner Effect Mascara is probably one of the best day wear mascara I've ever tried! It certainly does give the cat eye effect without having to curl your eyelashes. The brush is very thin so it separates each lash perfectly and is excellent on bottom lashes!

The mixture isn't too thick (which is something I really struggle with, because if it's too thick it usually clumps!) but I've never had clumpy eyelashes when I've used Liner Effect.

I would say it's best used just for day to day wear, as it's not too extravagant but is subtly draws attention to your eyes to make a real statement. For night wear (if you're liking this brand) I would use Bourjois Paris Clubber Effect Mascara! It really pops and gives you a perfectly dramatic look. Very hard to smudge it, it's basically waterproof!

So all in all I would give this product full marks! It is a little bit pricey for a store bought mascara (you can probably even find some high end brands that may be slightly cheaper than this one!) but it's worth it in the end.

So head down to Priceline or Target (I'm not sure if any other big stores stock Bourjois Paris anymore?) and give it a go! Usually their mascaras will range from about $18 to $29 and I believe the Liner Effect is $24!

Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant

Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant is probably the lip exfoliant I've ever used! It's sugar-based, which is always a good thing when it comes to exfoliating, and it's got a gorgeous peppermint taste/smell!
Usually I suffer from fairly dry lips (something that comes with the harsh weather in Australia - especially in Melbourne! Hot and sunny one day, windy the next! So my lips get fairly stressed!) so this is the perfect product for me.

Considering it's really only available for us to buy somewhere in Australia, and that I haven't found anywhere overseas that's any cheaper, it's a fairly average price. (If anyone knows if a good place online to buy it cheaper than the Aussie price, let me know!) It's easier if you can buy it in store (however when I went to both Mecca and Kit Cosmetics, they did not stock it, so if you find it you're lucky) but otherwise you can buy it online here:

Kit Cosmetics for $26.95 here or Mecca Cosmetica for $26.95 here

If you don't believe me, check out the reviews the product has received! Kit Cosmetics reviewers gave it 5 stars out of 5!
