Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials Nourishing Cream Wash & Gentle Exfoliating Wash *

I've been so behind with my skin care reviews, and the reason behind it is that I've been loving my recent regime so much I didn't want to review it! (Because once I review, I'll move on to something new!)

Lately I've been using the Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials Nourishing Cream Wash and Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Wash. During winter my skin tends to act up a little bit, so I switched to two cleansers - a cream cleanser to really clean my skin, and an exfoliating cleanser to remove any dead skin! I find that using two cleansers with different benefits has really helped me skin!

Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials Nourishing Cream Wash

The Cream Wash says it's specifically designed for dry skin. At first glance I decided I was probably not going to try this, as I definitely don't have dry skin. But I decided to give it a go regardless, for the sake of blogging, and was actually pleasantly surprised by the results! My face has been less oily due to the colder weather, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it was dry, and yet this cream wash did wonders!

The Cream Wash is designed to clean the skin while still leaving it feeling soft and nourished. After using this, I definitely felt my skin feeling extremely soft, and without losing any moisture. I think this would work well for people with dry skin, but I also think it would work fine for people with normal skin as well, so I'm happy that I've given it a go. It didn't break me out at all, and my skin had no trouble adjusting to the new skin regime. The scent was also really lovely, and like the other Johnson's skin products I've used, has the slight scent of baby powder!

Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Wash

The Exfoliating Wash is designed for all skin types, and instantly I was drawn to using it. If you've followed my blog for a while, then you'll know my favourite type of cleanser is an exfoliating cleanser, so this was the one for me!

The exfoliating beads are extremely micro! This was definitely not one of those rough and intense exfoliating washes, but more of a soft and gentle wash. The scent was really similar to the other Johnson's products also, and this one left my skin feeling really clean and tight - in a good way! I think the fact that it was such a gentle exfoliate means that truly any skin type could use it, and it would go really well with sensitive skin.

--

Overall I'm really pleased with both of these cleansers. I used both of them separately and had good results, but when I combined both of them, I had really amazing results! My skin was definitely thanking me for giving me the benefits of both cleansers! I would definitely recommend either of these, or both of them if you're anything like me and love having clean skin!

Both cleansers will set you back about $8.99 each, which is amazing value from a trusted brand! I'll definitely be purchasing these again at some point, as this was definitely a winning duo for my skin! Of course everyone has different skin, but I personally loved both of these as separate cleansers and as a duo!

Have you tried either of these Johnson's products? If so, what did you think?

Both products were kindly provided for my consideration.

Lumiere Cosmetics *

A little while ago, I was asked if I wanted to review some goodies from the lovely Lumiere Cosmetics brand. Lumiere Cosmetics specialise in mineral make-up, so of course I had to say yes! I'm a fan of mineral make-up already, so I'm always on the look out to try more!

Starry Night, Graphite & Silver Shimmer

To start with I was sent three gorgeous eye pigments from the "Black, Grey and White" range. I love how their website colour co-ordinates their pigments! It makes it a lot easier to find what you're after!

Starry Night

Starry Night is a black pigment with silver glitters - it reminds me a lot of the night sky! This colour is extremely pigmented, but can be toned down to create a SFW look!

Graphite

Graphite is probably my favourite pigment out of the trio. The colour is well pigmented, with a more metallic finish than how it looks in the tub. It's hard to tell with photos, but there are small slightly blue-ish specks which give Graphite a really unique finish!

Silver Shimmer

Silver Shimmer is a really lovely highlight colour, and also has a more metallic finish. Silver Shimmer is sheerer than the other colours, but looks really lovely on the eye.

From left to right: Starry Night, Graphite, Silver Shimmer

As you can see, they are very well pigmented, and these swatches are done with a very light touch! I would not recommend using a heavy hand!

--

I really adore these pigments, as they are colours I will use again and again. These are some of my first ever pigment eye-shadows, and while I don't have a lot of experience with that type of make-up, I found them easy to use! There wasn't a lot of fall out (but there was some of course, it's a pigment!) and the colours were extremely long lasting!

Mauvelous & Hibiscus

I was a little intimidated by the packaging of these blushes at first, which meant I grabbed way too much product my first go around! Oops!

Mauvelous & Hibiscus

Mauvelous is a really pretty colour! Upon first glance, I thought it looked almost the same as Hibiscus, but has a very different tone and finish! Mauvelous is more matted looking, and goes really nice for an every day look!
Hibiscus is a lovely pink/plum, minus any brown undertones, and gives a really gorgeous pop of colour! I love the finish of this one, and it has very quickly become my favourite blush! At first attempt, I used a heavy hand, but the colour was easy to blend in!

--

I ended up falling in love with both of these blushes, and they are some of my most used blushes already! The colours are so beautiful and different to anything else that I own, and they are so easy to blend! I found that my major problem with blush in general is that it can fade faster than the rest of my makeup, but I found with Mauvelous and Hibiscus, the colours lasted all day without any fading!

Socialite

What an adorable little bottle! This is the perfect sample size!

Socialite

Socialite is a really gorgeous colour. It's described as a cranberry colour with brown undertones, but I think in sunlight (as per the above swatch) the brown undertones are really clear. Socialite also has a little bit of sparkle, which gives it a really lovely finish. At first swatch, Socialite is fairly sheer but can be built up for a nice rich colour!

--

Socialite was also a really lovely lip gloss. I found that it wasn't overly sticky at all, and was actually really long lasting in terms of lip glosses! The colour does tend to change a little bit when you're in direct sunlight, which I actually like! (It also didn't smell or taste weird like some mineral lipglosses do, so that was definitely a plus!

--

I'm really liking the samples I received from Lumiere Cosmetics! I'll definitely be checking out some of their other products, as they have a huge range! Their prices are also really great! With the eye shadow pigments, you have the option of buying the full sized tub, which retails at $8 or the sample tub which retails at $5 so there's a lot of flexibility!

The quality of all of the products was really great too, so I would definitely recommend buying!

You can check out the full range of Lumiere Cosmetics here on their website!

April Lust Have It!

As soon as I received the email from Lust Have It this month, telling me that my package has been dispatched, I've been excited! The boxes were a little late this month, most likely due to the public holiday. (We all know that when there is just one public holiday, Australia Post seems to lose it's head...)

This month's box was a gorgeous, boho looking blue box! I love the new collectible boxes, and I think it's great that Lust Have It are always coming out with new things to send their goodies in, it keeps things interesting!

The gorgeous April card artwork.

All of the goodies this month!

Goldwell Ultra Volume Shampoo

I was a bit surprised to see a shampoo sample without a conditioner sample, but I'm not complaining. I'd tried a Goldwell shampoo and conditioner a few months ago and absolutely loved it, and was considering purchasing them again, so I'd love to give their volume shampoo a go! 100ml is also a really generous sample size, so I'm very happy with this!

John Plunkett Cleanser & Makeup Remover

I haven't actually heard of this brand before, but I'm always willing to try out more cleansers! Apparently this is also an anti-aging cleanser, which sounds very interesting to me, so I'll be interested in giving this a go. Another generous sample size at 40ml!

Molton Brown Patchouli & Saffron Body Wash

I've actually never tried anything from Molton Brown before, but I've always been interested in their products! This will be a really good opportunity to test it out! And let me tell you, it smells yum! I can't wait to start using it!

Gosh Cosmetics Mono Eye Shadow in Light Brown

A full sized product from Gosh Cosmetics! Well done, Lust Have It! I've seen a few more interesting colours floating around, so I'm a little disheartened at receiving such a neutral colour. But at the same time, this is a colour I will use often, so I'm definitely not complaining. This will be a good indication on whether or not I like Gosh Cosmetics enough to buy some full sized products. (Oh who am I kidding, I will love it!)

Pink Tiger Duri Cosmetics Lint-Free Gauze

I was really interested to see this in my box, as I'd heard about using gauze to remove nail polish. I'll be interested to give it a go and see the difference, so stay tuned! I love the idea of including this, as this is just so different I would never even consider buying this for myself without actually trying it first!

Pink Tiger Duri Cosmetics Nail File

Nail files always come in handy, so I'm happy to get this. I'll put this in my hand bag for work, as the one I usually use has gone missing. I'll be interested to see how this goes!

Discount Vouchers

Always happy to get some vouchers! A voucher for Duri by Pink Tiger where if you spend over $50 you get a free nail polish. Pretty good deal! Another voucher for Molton Brown for a percentage discount, another good deal!

--

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this month's Lust Have It. I love that they are finding new and innovative products for us to try out. I'm actually glad that I've signed up for Lust Have It annually, as it hasn't disappointed me yet!

Also, if you haven't signed up for Lust Have It! yet, you can do so now and get $5 off if you use the codeword: SWEET! That's a pretty sweet deal - excuse the pun!

Have you received your Lust Have It box yet? If so, what did you think?

Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Souffle *

A little while ago, I was asked to review the new Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Souffle, and of course I was delighted to give it a go! I rarely use body lotions or creams these days as we have just come out of summer, and I haven't adjusted my skin regime back to the cold weather!

The Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Souffle is specially formulated for dryer skin. Nivea says that this light cream contains Hydra IQ technology, which apparently uniquely hydrates skin from within by stimulating the skin's own moisture networks. The Nivea Body Souffle also contains Shea butter, which we all know is a prime ingredient in keeping your skin soft and smooth!

The tub was full to the brim of product, which is always good! (Don't you have buying a new product and when opening it, you find that it's half empty already?)

The Body Souffle itself is aptly named, as the formula of this particular body cream is lightly whipped, which makes it really easy to apply. The cream (or should I say, souffle) is extremely light, and absorbs into the skin very quickly, without leaving any greasy residue behind!

The cream is so lightweight!

A little goes a long way, but it's easy to use a lot for a more luxurious feel! I've been using this after my shower, as that's when my skin is at it's driest. Usually I wake up in the morning with super dry skin, but since using the Nivea Body Souffle, I've been waking up with super smooth skin, and I don't actually need to re-moisturise in the morning!

--

I have to say that since using the Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Souffle, my skin has never felt softer! I would definitely recommend purchasing, and will be repurchasing once this tub is over, as a 300ml tub will set you back a measly $9.95 - what a bargain!

Have you tried the Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Souffle? If so, what did you think?

This product was provided for my consideration.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Palette in Comfort Zone

If you remember my Christmas Blog Swap Goodies post (you can read the full post here) with the beautiful and talented Ishah, then you'll remember she gifted me a few Wet n' Wild palettes! One of the Color Icon palettes she sent over to me was the very neutral Comfort Zone.

It has since become one of my favourite palettes, and one of my most used palettes! It's super easy to create a safe-for-work look, but just as easy to create the perfect smokey eye (with an olive twist, if you're using the second half!)

Comfort Zone has eight different colours, all of which are meant to create two different natural looks. On the left, we have the browns and on the right, we have the greens. Very comforting for those who like to keep their eyes simple, but versatile enough for those who want a little more bang for their buck.

The great thing about the Wet n' Wild palette is that they are practically dummy proof. You don't need to be a professional make-up artist to be able to create a professional look anymore, because Wet n' Wild tell you exactly where each colour is supposed to go. I think this is great for those just starting out, or those who are just beginning to experiment. For those of us who are a bit too comfortable around the old blending brush, it's a basic guideline -  but a line we can still cross!

Left Side of the Palette
Left to right - Browbone, Eyelid, Crease, Definer

The sheerest of the four is definitely the browbone, although the photo does not do it justice! It comes up a lot brighter on the eye, and is a really gorgeous shade. I'm most impressed the crease colour, but there's a special place in my heart for the definer!

Right Side of the Palette
Left to right - Browbone, Eyelid, Crease, Definer

The crease colour on the right side of the palette is a lot more intense, and has since become my favourite colour to use out of the entire palette. Sadly, the definer colour on this side does not come up amazing in photography, as it's a duochrome and changes with the light. It's definitely spectacular in real life, but no amount of photos will do it justice!

--

In terms of pigmentation, all of the above swatches were taken in natural light and with no primer. The shadows are extremely easy to blend as well, and so easy to apply.

Like I said earlier, this has become one of my favourite palettes, and hopefully now you can see why! I've always shied away from greens, because my eyes are brown and I figured that it would be a bit of a clash, but I think these greens are very neutral and don't pop too much to the point they become unwearable - I think these shades could be pulled off by just about anybody. I find it sad that Wet n' Wild isn't readily available on Australian shelves, but can easily be picked up from a variety of online stores - I would absolutely recommend giving them a go if you get the chance!

Have you tried this Wet n' Wild palette before? If so, what did you think?

Priceline Beauty Bag 2013

Everybody I know has been telling me that I planned the timing of my spending ban very well! I was off just in time to visit Salon Melbourne (you can see my post about that here) and I was also in time to catch the amazing Beauty Bag from Priceline! If you remember last years bag (you can read my shockingly bad post here) then you'll know why I would be excited! Sadly, I found I wasn't as impressed with the contents of this years bag. But let's take a look...

The bag itself was just as, um, unique as last years. I'm not a big fan of animal prints, but my sister is so this will be gifted to her. We did go in "halves" for this - meaning I actually bought her stuff. But I figured she can have some of the goodies too.

Contents of the bag. Not as great as last years, but granted there are a few goodies in there I can't wait to try out!

Kiss Everlasting French Nails & Press&Go Press On Manicure

I wasn't too thrilled with these, as I'm not a big false nails wearer! We'll see how they go, though!

Manicare Cuticle Therapy

Always happy to try a cuticle product, as mine are terrible! I currently use a Sally Hansen cream, but I'll be excited to see how this one goes!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Midnight in NY

When I first picked this out, I thought it was plain black and was super disappointed. Upon further investigation however, I discovered this was a gorgeous black glitter, which looks really lovely! I'll get some wear out of this!

Nude by Nature Mineral Primer

I actually already have this in a smaller tube, so I decided to give this one over to my sister. I remember not thinking much of it anyway, but this was long ago when they first released their brand, so I'm not sure if they've changed their formulas.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

This is a cute addition but sadly I already have this colour, so it's been gifted to my sister! I was hoping for a colour I didn't already have (but that chances of that were fairly slim!)

Natio Lipstick in Flutter

I actually really like this colour, and the photo does not do it justice. It looks like a "my lips but better" colour which will be perfect for work or errands, and looks really easy to apply.

Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Max Mascara

I actually already own this mascara (I got it with a Bourjois Paris GWP a while ago but haven't used it yet!) so I'm gifting this one to my sister. We're both big fans of Bourjois Paris mascaras, as they were probably the first ones we ever discovered ourselves!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Illuminator in Flush of Pearl

I was happy to receive this, although it's such a small tube! I'm happy this came in the lightest colour, Flush of Pearl, as I think anything darker would have been unusable on me. I'll be interested to see how this goes with the Wake Me Up foundation!

Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Concealer

I was so disappointed with the colour of this one. I was looking forward to getting this, but when I fished out my "medium/dark" shade, I was gutted! No way a medium/dark shade is going to be used by me, so any takers, I'm happy to give it away!

Eco Tools Loofah

Always happy to recieve a loofah, not too happy with the green though! Last year I got purple, so I really shouldn't complain!

Models Prefer Brow Highlighter

I'm actually really intrigued by this, as I have never seen it on shelves before. In saying that, I don't really use brow highlighters as my Chi Chi Eyebrow Lift Pencil (see my review here) has one already! My sister decided she wanted this anyway, so I guess I have no choice!

Savvy by DB Makeup Remover Wipes

Not overly interested in these as I have so many to test out already, although I can't say I'm not curious! My sister decided she was taking these as well, so I'll need to ask her what she thinks!

--

And I'm sure you're all wondering what I ended up buying to get this free beauty bag? Well, this time I didn't go overboard, I stayed well within the $60 limit...

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 113, Australis Pout Paste in Pash Me Pink , Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I mentioned before that I bought something for my sister to qualify, so we ended up getting the two Revlon Colorstay Foundation for $45 deal. I then added a Kate Moss Matte lipstick I've been dying to try since they were released! I'd also seen so much buzz around the Australis Pout Paste I figured I'd give this gorgeous colour a go!

--

Overall I'm not as pleased as I was with last years Beauty Bag. The contents were fairly similar but somehow I wasn't as excited to receive it. Last year I got two or three bags by the end, but this year I think I'll be sticking with one. (Maybe it's my post 100 Day Spending Ban mind talking?) Although I think it's a really great idea, and Priceline is a really good sport for setting this up! I have a lot more new goodies to test out, and a lot of them are things I probably wouldn't have tried for myself, which is pretty awesome!

Have you got your Priceline Beauty Bag yet? Or did you pass it up this year?

Note - this haul was done before the massive 40% off at Priceline! Bummer!

Bummer!
