Salon Melbourne 2014 Haul

SM1

Last weekend was the almighty Salon Melbourne! For those of you who don't know, Salon Melbourne is an awesome industry only event that sells heaps of beauty related products at industry prices! I didn't take enough photos of the actual expo itself to do an entire post, but you can see last year's recap here. This year I went with my blogging besties Mel, Kat and Erin!

So instead I decided to just show you my haul!

SM2

All the products! I didn't spend as much as last year, but I definitely got a few goodies!

Mary Kay Fairytale & Fantasy Fall Colour Collection Product Launch

MK9

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Mary Kay event showcasing their newest product range, the Fairytale & Fantasy Fall Colour Collection! I've tried a few Mary Kay products in the past, so I was really excited to try out some of their newest products!

The event was held at Melbourne's Ludlow Bar on Southbank! The atmosphere was really nice and intimate, and very dark (which did cause some problems trying to take heaps of pictures) but was perfect for the drizzly and freezing day we had!

MK7

Myself with bloggers Sue, Claire, Kat, Karina and the gorgeous Jules from Mary Kay!

It was so great catching up with bloggers I already knew, as well as Jules who I'd met previously! This was my first ever time meeting Karina from The Beauty & Lifestyle Hunter, so it was great to finally put a face to the name! So make sure you go and check out her blog!

March Lip Factory

LF1

I know I just reviewed the February Lip Factory a little while ago, but when my March Lip Factory arrived, I knew I couldn't wait that long to share it! Every now and then Lip Factory do a box dedicated entirely to lip products... and this month is one of those boxes!

LF2

The theme is "It's All About The Lips," which is very exciting!

LF3

All the lip products this month!

The Beauty Scenario Tag

vedd

I seem to be doing a lot of tags recently, and the latest one I've been tagged in is the Beauty Scenario Tag. The lovely Basma over at Lacee & Latttes has tagged me in this one, which was originally created by Lily Pebbles

You have to get rid of all your foundations, and only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

tg1

I don't have many high end foundations, so it was pretty slim pickings. I chose the Make Up Forever HD Foundation, as it's the nicest high end foundation I own. (I don't own many high end foundations.) For the drugstore, my choices were abundant and I was biting my nails trying to choose. I ended up with my newest favourite, the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation.

You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

If we're talking about a job interview, I would definitely ignore it. Not really wanting to start a new job off in a bad light!

Illamasqua Shattered Star Nail Varnish Collection *

ill4

I am always impressed by the new Illamasqua collections these days! The things they are coming up with are absolutely fantastic, and the new Glamore collection is no exception! Boasting three stunning glitter polishes, I am in love with the colours and textures of these babies! Illamasqua has aptly named them Shattered Star Nail Varnishes!

ill5

Akin to other textured nail polishes on the market, Illamasqua released three beautiful colours in the Glamore collection; Fire Rose, Marquise and Trilliant. All three colours are quite magical, and right up my alley!

Australis Cosmetics Neon Crush Eyeshadow Duos

NC2

A little while ago, Australis Cosmetics introduced a new range called Neon Crush. I'll admit that I was not at all interested in the range. I do find that more releases by Australis Cosmetics seem to be aimed at younger teenagers, which is fine, but it means that I'm far less interested!

During the 40% off cosmetics sale at Priceline, I decided to have a look around. I ended up trying out one of the Neon Crush Duo's in store, and decided that yes, I indeed need to walk out with all four duos.

NC1

#LAFS (Love At First Sight) #LOLZ (Laugh Out Loudz) #XOXO (Hugs & Kisses) #OMG (Oh My Gosh)

So, as you can see, the names are pretty annoying. From now on I'll just be referring to them as their hashtag names, as that's far easier. There are four duos in the range, including blue, purple, pink and green. I was a bit disappointed there was no inclusion of yellow, or even orange, as they would have made gorgeous neon shades! I can't complain too much though, as there was an orange included in the limited edition palette Neutrals & Neons (you can read my full review on that palette here.)

February Lip Factory

LF11

I keep saying this, but I've been super late with all my subscription box reviews. I was going to skip the February Lip Factory as it arrived so late (it is coming from the US so I'm not complaining) but I decided that their boxes are just too good, so I had to share.

LF2

Obviously the theme is Valentine's Day. Love this theme!

LF3

All the goodies this month. All makeup products!

Colour Inspiration - Green

GR1

Being that today is St. Patrick's Day, I decided I would shed some light on my absolute favourite cosmetics that happen to be the colour green! I find that green is not usually my first colour of choice in most things, especially cosmetics, and I'm not really sure why! I've been told I look rather dashing in green (my boyfriend's opinion, not mine) so I really should try to experiment with the colour more. Because dying my hair completely green isn't experimental enough.

GR2

Eyes

Australis Cosmetics Neon Crush Eyeshadow Duo in #OMG, Bourjois Paris Eyeshadow Pot in 07, Chi Chi Baked Eyeshadow Singles in Fast Love, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Junkie

I have a review coming up shortly for the Australis Cosmetics Neon Crush Eyeshadow Duos, so I won't go into too much detail. These greens are truly unique to my collection, and are buttery soft! The Bourjois Paris Eyeshadow and the Chi Chi Baked Eyeshadow are both fairly similar, so I have no idea how I ended up with both. Bourjois Paris is far darker, however, bordering on black, while Chi Chi has a more forest green finish. The Urban Decay eye pencil in Junkie came in the Vault I got a little while ago! Perfect for just that pop of colour if you aren't adventurous enough to wear green eyeshadow!

Enbacci Skincare Event

EN1

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to a very exciting event - the Enbacci Skincare Event! Enbacci is a brand new skincare range that launched on the 5th of October last year, with eight premium skincare products to start out with!

EN2

The very lovely Yong-Li introduced the brand to us, and explained how everything was tried and tested on her family members! (So much better than animal testing!) We also had the lovely Chelsea, who runs a spa in Melbourne, to talk about how she would be using the products in her spa!

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit

BB2

When I went to Tokyo last December, I was lucky enough to be staying just a short walk away from Shinjuku Station, where they have some amazing stores. Etude House was one of those stores, much to my delight. If you check out my Tokyo Makeup Haul (which you can read about here) you'll see I wasn't shy about spending my cash in Etude House!

One thing I was super excited about trying whilst in Asia was BB creams! I'm not a big fan of the Western BB creams, as I find them far too oily for my skin. When I saw the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit, I knew I had to try it!

BB3

I had high hopes for this BB cream, as I tried it in store and was super impressed! The colour seemed to match me perfectly, and it wasn't even the lightest colour available! This one comes in a pump tube, which makes application pretty easy!

Ulta 3 Lip Paints *

L2

I'm a big fan of Aussie makeup, so when Ulta 3 decided to extend it's makeup range, I got pretty excited! When I was offered the chance to review the new Ulta 3 Lip Paints, I couldn't pass it up! I was planning on picking up a few anyway, but they beat me to it!

L3

Ulta 3 has released six gorgeous shades in their newest lip paint range. For those of you keeping count at home, this range is pretty darn similar to a few other products on the market. (I won't name names, but if you've been following my blog for a while you'll know what I'm talking about!)

The shades included in this range are Manic Mauve, Expressive Fuchsia, Extreme Pink, Radical Red, Loud Purple and Eclectic Orange. I feel like there is a good selection of colours in this collection, and most of them are a bit more wearable than similar products on the market!

After the ridiculously late January Lust Have It box (which you can read all about here) I've finally decided to sit down and share with you the February box. To be fair, I did receive this not long after getting the January box, but I've really lacked motivation so I haven't gotten around to photographing/writing up the post until now.

Blogger Love Tag

12194244454_3fe3d25f2b_o

I was lucky and honoured enough to be tagged twice in the Blogger Love Tag, by two amazing bloggers; Sarah from More Than Adored and Sophie from Born to Buy. A big thank you girls for tagging me! I'm usually super lazy with my tags, but I really wanted to get this one done and share the love!

What was the first blog you ever came across?

When I first started becoming interested in blogs, I did a quick google search of Australian Beauty Bloggers. I figured I'd start local and go from there. The very first blog I started to read was The Made Up Maiden, run by my now good friend Nalini! I was totally dazzled by her blog, and the fact that she was from Melbourne made it all the more better! I decided to start blogging myself based mostly on Nalini's beautiful blog!

My subscription boxes were all a tad late in February (probably since the month is a bit shorter than all the others!) and I'm even later in posting about them! Since getting my wisdom teeth out, I've lacked motivation to blog, so apologies for the late review on the February Her Fashion Box!

HFB2

The February Her Fashion Box is all about Dainty Delicacy. The box itself was smaller than usual, unfortunately you can't really tell from my photos!

2 Year Blogiversary Giveaway

B1

I know I've been a bit absent from blogging the past few weeks, mainly due to my teeth troubles. But then I realised that I'm very quickly approaching the anniversary of beginning my blog! It's been two years, and I've enjoyed every minute of it! Last year I decided not to do a giveaway, but this year I thought I'd share the love with all the gorgeous people who have helped me get to where I am today!

B2

In December, the gorgeous people from Get Drenched, who stock Bomb Cosmetics, had an amazing gift with purchase! I ended up buying a lot from them over Christmas for gifts, and myself, so I ended up getting a few gifts! I ended up getting doubles, so I decided to keep this gorgeous Bomb Cosmetics Halcyon Daze Gift Set!
