FOTD with Scout Cosmetics *

SC1

A little while ago, I was given the opportunity to test out some products from a new brand called Scout Cosmetics. I was pleased to hear that they are actually an Australian mineral makeup company. I love to buy local and natural, so this was definitely a win win for me!

SC3

I was provided with three products to test out; the Mineral Powder Foundation, the Mineral Eye Shadow and the Mineral Lipsticks. I absolutely love the packaging, it all matches and looks so sleek and simple.

SC2

I received the shade Bisque for the Mineral Powder Foundation, which worried me as this was the second lightest available, and it looked so dark in the pot. Upon swatching, it actually comes up lighter and ended up matching my skin really nicely! The Mineral Powder Foundations retail for $59.95 each.

The Mineral Eyeshadow in the shade Run, Baby Run seemed pretty neutral in the pot, and not too extreme! Perfect for day to day wear. The Mineral Eyeshadow retails for $29.95 and come in both matte and shimmer shades. I was most happy to receive the Mineral Lipstick in shade Essence; it's the perfect my lips but better shade for my lips. The Mineral Lipsticks retail for $35.95 each.

Selfies! (More like derp face!)

As you can see, the foundation matched my skin fine. It may have been a tad on the darker side, but nothing too noticeable. In fact, it gave my skin a healthy glow, so I'm not complaining about that at all! For a powder foundation it gives pretty decent coverage.

My favourite from this trio, however, is the eyeshadow in Run Baby Run. I was surprised at how easy it was to blend. There was a little bit of fallout, but that's to be expected with a mineral eyeshadow. I'd love to grab some more colours from this range in the future because they're just so easy to use.

The lipstick in Essence was a tad dry to apply at first, so you need a few good swipes across your lips to get it going. This may be because it's a mineral lipstick, but I'm not sure. I'd probably recommend applying a lip balm first, just to make application easier. Other than that, however, I absolutely adore the colour! This has become one of my most worn lipsticks at the moment, because it's just so easy to wear and looks oh so flattering!

Overall, I have to say I've loved all three of the products I've tried so far from Scout Cosmetics. All the products were relatively easy to work with and all of them matched my skin tone! They have a whole range of other products that I'm really keen on trying now! I'd say their prices are definitely on the expensive end of the scale, but considering they are mineral products, I can justify paying a larger amount.

You can buy Scout Cosmetics online here or at selected retailers.

Have you tried anything from Scout Cosmetics yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
