Face of Australia Super Intense Colour Lip Paints

LP1

I'm a sucker for limited edition products, especially when they're being released by one of my favourite Aussie brands - so when I saw the new Face of Australia Super Intense Colour Lip Paints, I knew I had to have them. Face of Australia have been surprisingly secretive about this release, or maybe I've just missed all of their promotion! Either way, it was a pleasant surprise to catch these in store.

I'm guessing these products are Face of Australia's answer to the OCC Lip Tars and the various dupes available on the market these days. This new collection has six colours, ranging from nude to a deep berry; so there's something to suit everyone's preference.

Very Berry, Poison Apple, Tangerine Queen, Fired Up Fuchsia, Pretty in Pink, Nude Nymph

I am personally not a huge fan of the packaging. These apply like a lipgloss but are more pigmented which can make application a little bit tricky. I've applied using the packaging as is, but I have also applied using a lip brush which I found to be far easier.

Very Berry, Poison Apple, Tangerine Queen, Fired Up Fuchsia, Pretty in Pink, Nude Nymph

As you can see, the colours are very pigmented and have a glossy finish. I wasn't sure what kind of finish to expect just from the swatches, but after wearing a few colours out and about, I was surprised at how non-sticky they actually were. Most glosses that claim to be non-sticky are usually a little bit, but I found the Face of Australia Super Intense Colour Lip Paints to be fairly slick on the lips, which made for a nicer wear. However in saying that, I found that they were not as long lasting as other lip products.

All swatches were applied from the tube directly and without a lip brush. As you can see, I found application a little tricky and missed a few spots. Application came out a little uneven as well. I found some of the colours were easier to work with than others, but that will all come down to skin tone and what suits you best.

Overall, I did actually like the Face of Australia Super Intense Colour Lip Paints. They aren't low maintenance, so don't expect them to be something you can throw in your handbag and reapply later without a mirror. You definitely need a mirror, and if you're anything like me, you'll opt for the lip brush. I think all of the colours were just gorgeous, and I know I'll wear all of them. My favourites had to be Fired Up Fuchsia and Very Berry!

Have you tried the Face of Australia Super Intense Colour Lip Paints yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
