Australis AC on Tour Contouring & Highlighting Kit

Australis, Australis AC On Tour Contouring and Highlighting Kit, Contouring, Highlighting, Face,Makeup,

Every now and then a beauty product is released that makes the entire blogging community go mad. The kind of newish Australis AC on Tour Contouring & Highlighting kit has done just that. Being that it's pretty much a cost effective, almost dupe for the Anastasia Beverley Hills contour palette, it has been extremely popular. It's practically been flying of the shelves.

Australis, Australis AC On Tour Contouring and Highlighting Kit, Contouring, Highlighting, Face,Makeup,

The Australis AC on Tour kit has been out of stock for a fair amount of time, but lately Australis has released a bunch of new stock and so it's easier to grab. I purchased this when it was first released, but thought I would share my thoughts now that I've had a lot of time to play with it and perfect my style.

Weekly Round Up

Weekly Round Up, Beauty, BBloggers

Another week is done and dusted, and I can't believe how quickly the time is passing this month! Now that my health issues have finally calmed down a little bit, and my boyfriend is back at work full time, I've had so much more time for blogging.

This entire week I've been going through intense training at work as I'm going to be in a completely different department, using all new systems and doing something completely new. So, as you can imagine, I'm pretty mentally drained right now.

Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette

Sugarpill, Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette,

I had been planning to head to IMATS late last year, but unfortunately life got in the way and I wasn't able to attend. However, I was lucky enough to have a friend of mine pick up the brand spanking new Sparkle Baby palette from Sugarpill. (At least it was mostly new at the time, anyway!) Sugarpill are known for their incredibly bright and sparkly colours, and the Sparkle Baby palette definitely embodies all of that. Since the release of this palette, I knew it had to be mine.

Sugarpill, Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette,

The packaging was adorably cute. I don't think cute is even a strong enough word to describe this packaging. It's just pure kawaii.

Battle of the Dry Shampoos

Dry Shampoo, Battle of the Dry Shampoos, Tresemme, Polished London, John Frieda, Batiste,

Ladies that work a rotating roster will know that it's not always easy to wash, blow dry and style our hair before work on those insanely early starts. I'm pretty sure that this very reason is why dry shampoo was invited. For a long time I never used dry shampoo because I always had time to wash my hair, and it seemed usual that someone would choose to use dry shampoo over actually washing their hair. Then I switched jobs and had 5am alarms waking me up, and all became clear.

Over time, I've accumulated a few different dry shampoos, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on all the ones that have made it through the big bathroom purge of Janauary 2015. (I gave away half of my bathroom cupboard to people who needed it more than I did!)

Dry Shampoo, Battle of the Dry Shampoos, Tresemme, Polished London, John Frieda, Batiste,

I have five different dry shampoos that I'll be talking about today, and all of them have their pros and cons.

Katy Perry Killer Queen's Royal Revolution

Katy Perry, Katy Perry Killer Queen Royal Revolution, Royal Revolution, Fragrance,

I love a good celebrity scent. I know that a lot of people find them to be a little bit cheap and nasty, but lately I've noticed a real increase in celebrity fragrances that are actually worth a sniff. I've tried a two others from the Katy Perry Killer Queen range, and I've loved them both. When I caught Royal Revolution on sale, I figured why the hell not?

The packaging of this particular fragrance has to be my favourite out of the entire range so far. The blue and steel shades just look gorgeous together, and really appealing.

Katy Perry, Katy Perry Killer Queen Royal Revolution, Royal Revolution, Fragrance,

The deep blue bottle with the steel lid looks stunning, and I think this has to be the most beautiful bottle so far as well. I also adore the fact that all the fragrances in this particular line have all had the same bottle, which makes my collection look just adorable all together.

Maybelline Master Precise and Master Graphic Liquid Liner Comparison

MAY2

A little while ago, Maybelline released a few new products, one of them being the Maybelline Master Graphic Liner. As a liquid eyeliner lover, this was a pretty hyped up product for me. I've always been a fan of the Maybelline Master Precise Liner; which is a sister product, so I thought I might do a comparison post.

MAY1

The Master Precise Liquid Liner is a very thin liquid liner pen designed for extremely precise lines. This was always perfect for me, but could be a little tricky to create a full cat eye flick. The Master Graphic is designed to create cat eye flicks, and more intense eye looks. I was definitely excited to try this out.

Weekly Round Up

Sweetaholic Beauty, Blogger, Beauty, Cosmetics, Makeup,

You may have noticed my Weekly Round Up posts stopped running for a little while. Sadly I've been very sick the past few weeks, so blogging has become less of a priority for me as I was recovering.

Quick update on my health: I have been unwell for some time, and the reason being is that I have a cyst in my face which has been affecting my sinus and causing infections. Pretty yucky stuff. My partner, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy after his time in hospital, has also been on new medication and feeling extremely unwell. So on top of looking after him, I've been trying to look after myself as well. Even though a cyst is not a big deal, I'll be getting surgery soon to have it removed, so that will mean more recovery! But after that, I'll hopefully be back to my happy self and won't feel so tired and drained all the time.

But, that's negative stuff, and I'm focusing on positive! I'm changing roles at work this week, so I'll be in training all week! Yay! Aside from that, I don't have anything else to update from this past week!

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Velvet Matte Lips*

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Velvet Matte Lips, Rimmel London, Apocalips,

When it comes to drugstore makeup, there's a few brands that I've loved since I was a teenager. Rimmel London is one of those brands. Recently I posted an Ace Your Base post featuring all Rimmel London products, so it's safe to say I am a bit of a fan.

Two years ago, Rimmel London released a breakthrough lip product called the Apocalips. They released eight beautiful shades and since then we've eagerly been awaiting more shades. Rimmel London has answered our prayers and gifted us with four new shades; however this time, they are have a matte finish.

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Velvet Matte Lips, Rimmel London, Apocalips,

There were a lot of pro's and con's of the original Apocalips lip shades, and the blogging community was basically 50/50. Common complaints included the lip product having an odd scent, looking weird on the lips, and the colour choices. Other countries offered more shades, but sadly Australia never received the other colour releases. With these new shades, I've noticed similar complaints among the blogging community that they either love or hate them. In my review of the originals, I had a fair amount of mixed thoughts from my readers.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Range

John Frieda, Beach Blonde, Haircare,

When I first heard that John Frieda was bringing out a new shampoo and conditioner duo, I was over the moon. Then, I heard this duo was called Beach Blonde, and I lost all hope. Once this duo was released, along with sea salt spray, I discovered that this was in fact for all hair types, not just blonde. Just a tip, John Frieda, maybe try a different name. Something a little more inclusive. That aside, I popped in store and purchased all three products from the Beach Blonde range.

John Frieda, Beach Blonde, Haircare,

The Cool Dip shampoo is a clarifying shampoo, which is something my hair seems to love. I was delighted when I opened this up in the shower and got an invigorating blast of mint. If you don't like mint, I would recommend you stay away from this shampoo. Once you began to actually use the shampoo, the mint dies down to a nice, subtle scent. I found the shampoo did an excellent job and cleaning my hair, and I only needed one wash. (Occasionally I'll need to wash my hair twice to ensure I get that true clean feel.) Being that it is a clarifying shampoo, it did leave my hair a little dry and tangled.

Ace Your Base: Rimmel London Stay Matte

Rimmel London, Rimmel London Stay Matte

Rimmel London is one of my all time favourite brands. It was one of the first brands I tried when I was a teenager, and ever since I've had a bit of a love affair with them. The Stay Matte Pressed Powder has to be one of the best products I have tried, and was the inspiration for this blog post.

Acing your base has never been easier. With four excellent face products, it's super easy to create the flawless look you've been dreaming of.

Lon Vitalite Mask Collection*

Lon Vitalite, Face Masks, Skincare,

I am a total face mask junkie. If you've ever seen my bathroom, then you'll know I have about twenty tubes of face masks on my counter - not to mention all the sheet masks I have hidden away! A long time ago, I tried out a brand called Lon Vitalite. I was super impressed with them, not only were they an Aussie family company, they also made amazing sheet masks! About a year down the track, I'm still using their masks and loving them! I really wanted to share the entire current collection and give a quick overview of each mask.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask*

BODY1

I adore The Body Shop, and I adore face masks; so when I received The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask, I knew I would love it. I've been using The Body Shop Drops of Youth Serum recently and have been loving it, so needless to say I had high hopes for this sleeping mask.

BODY2

This mask is designed to be slept in, and The Body Shop promises this will work it's magic while you sleep! Unlike traditional masks that you wash off, apply this to your face before bed and leave it; no need to wash off!

The fragrance is fairly neutral, and I didn't notice any lingering scent once applied. I've been applying this directly after the serum, and have found excellent results!

orly1

I'm a huge fan of ORLY polishes, so when I was given the opportunity to try a few shades from the new Sugar High collection, I jumped on the chance. I find that ORLY brings out some of the most gorgeous collections, so I had high hopes for this one. I was expecting some delicious colours, and I was not disappointed.

orly2

I was given three shades to try out; Plum Sugar, Sweet Dreams and Frosting. As soon as I saw these three shades together, I knew they would help create some fantastic manicures. The shade names definitely matched the colours!

John Plunkett Collagen Lift Moisturiser *

JP1

A little while ago I co-hosted an event where I received a few goodies from awesome skincare brand John Plunkett. One of the products I received was the Collagen Lift Moisturiser. At the time I was already using another moisturiser until my sister tried this one, and demanded I start using it immediately. I've now finished off the entire tub, so I figured I would share my thoughts on this moisturiser.

JP2

The packaging itself is extremely sturdy, so it would be great for travelling. I also dropped it a few times, as you do, and it was perfectly fine. I've dropped other bathroom products before only to lose majority of the actual product. Ahh the life of a klutz.

Once you've opened the lid, there is a secondary cover just in case. I like the idea of this, as it makes sure the insides are kept fresh and won't dry out as easily if you happen to leave the lid a little open. I think it came with a little spatula, but if it did, I lost it long ago.

Sigma Beauty Creme de Couture Palette

Beauty, Sigma Beauty, Beauty Blogger

When I first started blogging, I was introduced to a beautiful brand called Sigma Beauty. Most of you will be familiar with their amazing brushes - which is what they are really known for - but in the past few years they have delved into cosmetics as well. A while back (and I mean a long while, this review is so overdue!) they released a gorgeous palette called Sigma Beauty Creme de Couture Macaron Inspired Eyeshadows. I knew this palette had to be mine!
