Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette - Review & Swatches

Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

It's been a long time since I've been able to splurge on a big makeup purchase, so when I saw that Sephora Melbourne was stocking the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette, I knew it had to come home with me. I've been lusting over this palette since it was released, and all the stunning swatches on Instagram really helped seal the deal.

Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

The Mi Vida Loca palette is a little different in design. Rather than a traditional palette, it's just one flat surface that slides in and out of it's casing. No mirror and no lid to break, which means it's actually ideal for travelling if you're going to need a lot of shades. It's also completely flat so it definitely doesn't take up a lot of room. Although in saying that, it is bigger than I thought it would be.

Australia Day Manicure

Australia Day Manicure - Sweetaholic Beauty

Australia Day has never been a huge day for me or my family. We've basically used the day to just chill and take time to ourselves. This year I'm doing just that, but I'm also hanging out with some friends and watching some movies - nothing like quality times with the ones you love. I'm still a proud Australian though, so I decided to do a manicure to mark the occasion!

Five Must-Have Berry Shades

Five Must-Have Berry Shades - Sweetaholic Beauty

One of my New Years Resolutions was to begin wearing more of my lipsticks. I always stick to the same shades and I rarely step out of my comfort zone. So whilst I was shopping my stash, I decided to share some of my favourite berry shades that I plan on wearing more in 2016.

Five Must-Have Berry Shades - Sweetaholic Beauty

Who said summer had to be all pinks and nudes? Berry shades look stunning on most skin-tones and suit practically everyone. They really give your look a real pop; but can be a tad intimidating to wear. These five shades are my go-to berry shades. Easy to wear, easy to apply and not too out there.

Face Masks That Pack a Punch - Sweetaholic Beauty

Last year, I shared my top three calming face masks. Today, I want to share my top three face masks that pack a punch! These masks aren't as calming or soft as the others, but they certainly do have a huge effect on the skin. They're a bit dirty and gritty, but boy do they make a difference.

Five Things Blogging Has Taught Me

Five Things Blogging Has Taught Me - Sweetaholic Beauty

I've been blogging for almost five years now. It's been an emotional ride; I've had many ups and a few downs, but I wouldn't change a single moment. I've learnt a lot of hard lessons, and it's taken me a long time to get where I am.

A few times I've thought about quitting my blog, but I have never given up. So for those of you who are considering quitting - or considering beginning a blog but just aren't sure - this post is all about the five things that blogging has taught me over the years.

Five Things Blogging Has Taught Me - Sweetaholic Beauty

Confidence

I started blogging as a hobby to help with my depression. Almost five years on, I'm happy to say that I rarely struggle with my depression anymore, and I feel like blogging is a huge part of this. Slowly over time, I became more comfortable with telling people about my blog, and more comfortable about openly celebrating my achievements. I feel like blogging has given me the confidence to be happy with myself, and not put so much emphasis on what other people think of me. Whilst I do get the anonymous hate comment, blogging has helped me grow a thick skin and learn to move on.

Accountability

Before the internet, opinions were rarely shared with large groups of people. Being a blogger, I feel like my life is an open book. My opinions and my preferences are out there for all to see and judge. I write my blog for me more than anybody else, but I also strive to be a role model in my field. I'm now more wary about what I say online, and in real life, and this has helped me to be more open minded. Think before you judge is a mantra I practice every day.

I could have shared fifty products on this subject but that would have been far too overwhelming. Instead, I selected four products which I could sniff all day and decided to just share these. For now.

Hair Removal Solutions

Hair Removal Solutions - Sweetaholic Beauty

With summer in full swing, I'm beginning to take more care than usual when it comes to hair removal. Personally, I'm a sleek skin kinda gal. No hair is the way to go for me. Other people prefer to keep their body hair or some of their body hair, which I'm also totally cool with. But for those of you who prefer to remove, this is the post for you.

I've put together a few of my favourite products when it comes to hair removal. This is for all different parts of the body, not just legs. This post may get a little TMI (hey, we are talking about hair removal!) so you've been warned.

What's In My Handbag - Sweetaholic Beauty

Happy Monday everyone! Even though it's my second week back at work this year, I still don't feel ready. I need a longer holiday, thanks. Today I thought I would give you a glimpse into my current handbag. I could have sworn I have done a post like this before but I couldn't find it anywhere - oh well.

What's In My Handbag - Sweetaholic Beauty

The handbag itself is on the smaller side, and I picked this up from Colette a few months ago. Sadly it's no longer for sale, as it's a great little bag. Perfect size to fit everything I need, and not too heavy at all.

My Favourite Blogs

I'm always a big fan of reading about people's favourite blogs, yet I rarely share my own favourites. One of my resolutions was to be more active with social media, and more active in the beauty blogging community. I thought that a great way to begin being more active would be to share a few of my favourite blogs at the moment!

Born to Buy has been one of my favourite blogs to read since I started blogging myself. Sophie, who runs Born to Buy, is one of the most beautiful people I have met through the beauty community. I'm proud to say that we have been friend for years now, and we finally met in real life last year. Make sure you check out her blog!

4 Top Rejuvenating Products

4 Top Rejuvenating Products - Sweetaholic Beauty

Now with the holiday season well and truly over, we can start focusing on those pesky New Years resolutions we made on January 1st. But before we can do that, we have to recover from what feels like a month of letting loose and not exactly taking care of ourselves as we should have been. (But hey, isn't that always the way this time of year?)

I've compiled a list of my top 4 products to help rejuvenate yourself back to full health and beauty. Each product is easy to use, easy to source and pretty darn relaxing.

I've chosen four products; two for your face, one for your body and one for your hair. Whatever rejuvenation  you need, look no further.

2015 Favourites

2015 Favourites - Sweetaholic Beauty

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2016. This will be my fourth year doing an end of the year favourites post, and I couldn't be more excited. You may have noticed a few changes on the site; unfortunately I am still experiencing a few glitches, but I think the overall feel of the site is a lot cleaner.

This year there were so many new products to test and trial that I had a pretty hard time deciding, and actually spend a few weeks considering products that had really captured me throughout most of the year. Some of these products are fairly newer releases, but have quickly become favourites nonetheless.

2015 Favourites - Sweetaholic Beauty

Maybelline Color Drama Lipsticks

The pencil lip products were a big hit earlier on in the year, which was great for those of us who are generally fairly lazy with our lipsticks. These semi-matte lippies made for the easiest application and came in a pretty large range of gorgeous shades.

NYX Butter Glosses

Okay so I usually dislike glosses. My hair always finds a way to get onto my sticky lips, and it's just not a great time. Luckily these NYX babies are non-sticky and generally pretty pigmented when it comes to applying. NYX has also been released in Australia earlier this year meaning they are way easier to find and buy.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nude Collection

Yet another Kate Moss collection, they've filled a bit of a market gap and released an entire nude lipstick collection. I jumped all over this pretty quickly, and was delighted to find that their interpretation of nude covered a bigger range of skin tones than just "white." Kudos, Rimmel London. You can read a full review and see swatches here.
