Colour Theory Nordic Light Collection*

Colour Theory Nordic Light Collection First Impression & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

Now that the seasons are changing - so are the cosmetic collections. New Autumn/Winter collections are beginning to hit our shelves - with the new Colour Theory Nordic Light Collection being one of them. I was lucky enough to receive the collection, so I thought I would run through and show you the products as well as a bit of a first impressions.

The collection draws inspiration from the stunning Scandinavian evenings, which is a truly unique take on Autumn/Winter collections. We are usually seeing deep blues and burgundy shades, rather than soft tones - but I have to say this is a refreshing change. The collection also includes the Plump Mascara, which is in fact not a new product and not shown above.

Four new nail polish shades were introduced with this collection; Minted, Cashmere Kisses, Apres Ski, and Snow Bunny. Three shades are pastel shades, while Apres Ski is a bold purple shade.

After swatching it was very difficult to pick a favourite shade; however Minted won my heart immediately. I was also surprised that Minted, Cashmere Kisses and Apres Ski looked rather opaque upon first swatch - particularly the first two being pastel shades - I was impressed. Snow Bunny needed at least two coats for a good colour payoff.

Also new to this collection and already a must-have for Rachael Finch; beauty ambassador for Colour Theory; is the Colour Corrector. The pan is rather large so there is a lot of product, and if you swish it around you get a very nice mix. This is incredibly lightweight on the skin and actually helps a lot - swatches were a tad difficult, sorry.

The Ice Ice Baby eyeshadow palette has five frosted shades, which all seem very Nordic indeed. This reminds me of the 90's and when I was a younger teenager, almost all my makeup was "frosted" in one way or another.

I was really impressed with the pigmentation, as honestly I wasn't expecting anything special. I love the darker shades; the blue, green and grey particularly for the eyes, whilst I feel the yellow/white and purple could be used for a subtle highlighter.

I've always been a fan of the Colour Theory lipsticks, as they are always so creamy and pigmented. They come in this nifty see-through tubes that always tend to remind me of the 90's as well. Two of the shades are new to the brand, whilst one shade and the Jumbo Lip Crayon have joined the collection.

I-See Pink, Barely There, Pure Zen and Rosewood

I-See Pink and Pure Zen are new shades to the brand, whilst Barely There and Rosewood joined the collection. I adore Pure Zen - it's the perfect sheer lipstick, but I doubt would look good on everyone. I-See Pink is a gorgeous girly pink and I'm in love.

Overall I'm really loving this new collection. There was nothing that I disliked, but I will need to try out some of the products further before I decide if I love them.
I love how unique the shades are for Autumn/Winter.

Everything in this collection is either $10 or under, making it a complete steal this season. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Have you tried anything from the new Colour Theory Nordic Light Collection? If so, what have you tried? Do any of the shades appeal to you?
