Can you believe it's May already. This year feels like it's really sped past, although last month seemed to last forever. This past month has had a few ups and downs for me. I've been sick again sadly, but my partner is actually back at work. This makes me stress like crazy, but I know he's happier being back at work and earning moolah - which is good for all of us. This coming month has a lot of excitement coming, too.
Another seven favourite things this month.
I've been loving my lips this month, and my favourite lipstick has been the Scout Cosmetics Lipstick in Devotion*. It's a surprisingly wearable red, bordering on brown, and is so easy to apply. You can see swatches for this lipstick on my Handbag Lipstick Faves feature. Speaking of lips, they need a little extra TLC especially during weather changes. I've been really digging in to the Shanghai Lil & The Scarlet Fez natural lip balm I received at the Bloggers United AU event in Adelaide. I received the French Pear flavour, which I thought I would hate, but was pleasantly surprised. I need to invest in more of these.
I've been totally addicted to my Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette, particularly the shade Hush. I find the shade to be super easy to work with, and incredibly versatile. It can be used on top of blush or bronzer, or can even be used as a highlight. I'm kind of obsessed with this one. You can see full swatches in my Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette feature.
I have been trying to take care of my hair more these past few months, so I invested in a few must-have products. I've been using the John Frieda Frizz Ease Heat Defeat Protecting Spray and loving it. It really helps keep my frizzy hair at bay. I also included this heat protector in my Hair Care Essentials feature. As I mentioned earlier, I have been a bit stressed so I whipped out an old favourite, my Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash. The scent is so calming and really helps keep my showers calm. The scent is very neutral but does longer, which helps keep that calm going after your shower, too.
If you know me personally, then you'll know I'm a chocolate addict. I can't go without my chocolate. When the Cadbury Dairy Milk with Oreo Mint was released, I went nuts. I've since eaten two entire blocks of this (with my partner, of course) and already have another one stashed in my cupboard. I would recommend everyone try this as it's amazingly delicious. Another non-beauty thing I've been really into this month is a podcast called Astonishing Legends. I've actually been listening to this podcast for some time now, but they're really pumping out some awesome stuff. If you're a fan of urban legends, conspiracy theories and all things unsolved, then this is definitely the podcast for you.
