Bloggers United AU Melbourne Event Recap

Earlier this month, Nikita and I brought Bloggers United AU back to Melbourne. This was our second official event in Melbourne and I have to say, it went off without a hitch! For those of you who don't know, Bloggers United AU is a blogging community created with the idea of bringing bloggers and brands together, as well as creating a supportive environment for Aussie bloggers.

Surprisingly we managed to get a group shot - as you can see there are so many of us! We had a full house of attendees, as well as a number of amazing brands and guest speakers.

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge*

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little over a month ago, I was approached by one of my favourite Aussie brands - MooGoo Skincare - who asked if I would be interested in taking their MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge. I actually learnt a little bit about their natural deodorant back when I attended their Bloggers Luncheon in Melbourne, however, the idea of switching over sounded a bit too daunting for me at the time, so I gave it a miss.

But when MooGoo sent me some information about their natural deodorant again and the differences between their product and regular deodorant, I was convinced to give it a go.

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge - Sweetaholic Beauty

The scariest thing about most regular deodorants and antiperspirants is that they actually contain aluminium, which is actually used to block your pores to prevent sweat. Sweat is  a natural function, and although it may smell bad sometimes, it needs to be released. So, why are we trying to keep that inside of us? Kind of gross when you think of it like that. There has also been a study undertaken to discover whether there is a link between regular on the shelf deodorants and antiperspirants and breast cancer. While there is no concrete link, the studies are looking a little scary.

At the end of the day, though, switching to natural deodorant is a pretty personal choice. I decided to go natural as I would rather not have my pores clogged by something potentially dangerous.

Priceline Sale Haul

Last week, Priceline had one of their famous 40% off sales. I was absolutely set on not buying a single thing but a trip down to shops for pain-killers ended in a cheeky haul. With 40% off skincare products, I really couldn't resist grabbing a few things.

I only picked up four products. I actually had a Priceline voucher and was planning on waiting for my store to get NYX Cosmetics, but the call for skincare was too great.

July Favourites

July Favourites - Sweetaholic Beauty

Another stupidly stressful month has passed, and I still can't believe we're past the mid-year mark. This month my favourites were a little easier to distinguish as I found a few new loves, and rediscovered some old loves too.

Collaboration - Beauty Through The Decades: Futuristic

This is a little bit out of my usual blogging schedule, but when I had the chance to take part in a super cool collaboration with a few other amazing bloggers, I jumped. Originally set up by gorgeous girl Barb from Fashionista in Suburbia, myself and five other bloggers have decided to bring you Beauty Through The Decades. The idea behind this is that we create a look based on a decade given to us. I had the job of creating a futuristic look - which was not at all daunting until I realised the world was my oyster and I had next to nothing to go on.

Seeing that I love my sci-fi and I specifically love anything with a dystopian future plotline, I decided to pull inspiration from one of my newer favourites; Mad Max Fury Road. I was specifically drawn to Charlize Theron's character.

I decided on a messy smoky eye and black eyeliner. I ended up opting out of using false lashes. I considered my look to be very basic and easy going, while still following some of the trends we're seeing today. Heavy and messy eyebrows, and just a slight contour. Dewy more natural skin, showing off freckles and beauty spots. Oh and just a light glaze on the lips.

New Lush Haircare*

New Lush Haircare - Sweetaholic Beauty

A very exciting package turned up at my doorstep earlier this week containing a few of the new hair care products from Lush Cosmetics. I absolutely love Lush Cosmetics products, and am constantly using them and trying them out. I've had huge success with Lush Cosmetics' shampoo Big - so when I received these new products to try out, I could hardly wait.

I got four products in total; a shampoo, a conditioner, a hair dressing and a hair mist. After sharing the above image on social media, I had a few questions surrounding the hair dressing - so we'll start with that one.

July Empties

Another month down - it's amazing to see how quickly 2016 is going by. We are now mid-year and have only another six months to go. This month I have to say I did not use up many products at all. I was actually considering waiting until next month and doing a combination of July and August - but I figured I had more than three things, so why not share now.

My Mini Mid-Week Pamper

My Mini Mid-Week Pamper - Sweetaholic Beauty

Everyone loves to relax and have a good pamper session. I've been having a stressful couple of weeks, so I've begun giving myself a bit of a mid-week pamper time to try to make myself feel a bit better. I thought I would share a few of my favourite products and rituals to help me feel glam while still feeling comfortable and relaxed.

I always start with having a nice hot bath. Baths are perfect for relaxation. I use more than a few different bath salts, bubble baths, bath bombs and other bath goodies on a regular basis - but there are a few that a made for the stressful times.

It's that time of the month again - time for Lip Monthly. I was lucky enough to have been sent this monthly subscription service, so I thought I would share what's inside this month's bag.

This months bag was summer themed - probably as it is summer on the other side of the world at the moment. The bag design is rather cute!
