NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metals Review & Swatches*

NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metals Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little while ago, I was invited to a super cool launch party for the new products from NYX Cosmetics - the Cosmic Metals Lip Creams. Not only was the party out of this world, but we also received all seven shades available. (There was supposed to be another shade, but I'm unsure what happened with that.)

Anyone who knows me personally will know that I love anything space, galaxy, aliens etc. so this collection is right up my alley. I was excited to see so many unique shades hit Australian shores.

I tested out each shade and I have to say I had a lot of fun. Some of the colours might be a bit out-there for everyday wear, but for fun occasions, they are just right.

I had only one issue with the Cosmetic Metal Lip Creams - and that was the applicator. Because of the bright shades, you need to be precise when applying, otherwise, things can get messy. The doe foot applicators were a little fluffy, which meant when I tried to apply a nice precise line on my lips, I got a lot of messy lines instead. This isn't a deal breaker because it's easy enough to just use a lip brush, but when out and about it can be a bit of a pain.

From left to right: Speed of Light, Fuchsia Fusion, Asteroid Aura, Electromagnetic, Dark Nebula, Galactic, Ultraviolet

As you can see, the formula is relatively thick which gives it great coverage. You can thin it out for a more opaque look, but I prefer it thicker. It does eventually dry but still keeps a lot of the gloss, and doesn't go sticky at all.

Personally, my favourite shades to wear were the first three; Speed of Light, Fuchsia Fusion and Asteroid Aura, as they were so easy to wear outside of the house. For more glam looks, I loved Galactic and Ultraviolet on me. Electromagnetic and Dark Nebula were still gorgeous, and my boyfriend has been trying to convince me to leave the house wearing one of them. Nice try, dude.

Overall, I'm a fan. They have great shades available, the consistency is relatively easy to work with and the final look is beautiful. The price tag ain't too bad, either.

Have you tried the NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metals yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
