April Glossybox

I received the final Glossybox ever today! I was really disappointed to hear that Glossybox was joining forces with Lust Have It, as I've always been a fan of Glossybox. Sure, they don't always hit the mark, but that's the point of these boxes! You're not going to like everything you get. But their customer service was fantastic, at least in my experience when I had a declined payment for no reason whatsoever, and I feel their presentation is just amazing. Either way, I have no choice!

This month's Glossybox was supposed to be "natural" with the passing of Earth hour. I was pretty happy with the theme, as I was really pleased with all I received!

Redwin "Organics Moisturiser" in Orange and Bergamot
I LOVE Redwin, and I'm a fanatic with their sorbolene! (Just ask my boyfriend, I carry the bottle around the house with me!) So I was very pleased to receive something from one of my favourite brands! I adore the smell, it's very fruity and natural. I will be using this all the time! This was by far my favourite!

Integrity Protecting Moisturiser
The smell of this was just glorious, and I used a tiny bit on my fingers because I just couldn't help myself! I love the feeling of it, so I was really pleased to get this item! I love moisturisers, they're my favourite thing in the beauty world and there is no way I would survive without them, so I loved this!

Blush Amour Nail Polish
I'm happy I got the nail polish! After reading the list of things I could have got, I sighed in relief that they didn't stick me with the hand cream. I know I love cream, but a bit of variety is appreciated! I cant' wait to use this one, I love the colour!

Mirenesse Tight Liner Hydra Gel Eye Liner in Blue
I LOVE this! The packaging is just beautiful, very appealing, and the liner itself is just gorgeous! I tested it on my wrist, and it's been hours and it still hasn't smudged, so I'm happy with the road test so far! I was a bit put off by the fact that I got blue, but then I figured it was more of an exciting choice than black, which I probably would have found boring! So all in all I'm happy with that!

Rosehip Facial Scrub
This is really tiny, so I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it. I was a bit disappointed because there was a coupon included with this, but it expired in March? What the heck Glossybox?!
I probably would have been interesting using the coupon because I adore Rosehip and I'm sure this will be something I'd love to buy full size. Oh well...

So overall, I was very pleased with the final Glossybox. I was sort of expecting a "freebie" in here, as it is their last box, but I can't complain. I've read a few reviews from some girls who weren't too happy with their boxes, but they seem to have gotten completely different things from me. So I guess I can't compare really. I was disappointed that I didn't get the Jurlique Recovery Mask as I just adore Jurlique and would have loved to try it, but nonetheless, I was pleased with everything!

So what did you think of your Glossybox? Have you tried any of these brands?

Also, I need some advice! I've been approached by a company who wants to advertise on my side banner! I'm more than happy to accommodate them, however they're asking me what my rates are! I have no idea what to ask for, and I don't want to get ripped off! Anybody have any idea? Any advise would be much appreciated!!!

The Body Shop - Japanese Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel

This! This stuff is amazing. The Japanese Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel is just beautiful! I'm a giant fan of anything Cherry Blossom! It's everything about it. The smell, the look, the pink! It's just perfect in every which way I can think of.

I gave this a try after reading a few other blogs a while ago, but decided now I should probably voice my own opinions on it.

I've read mixed reviews really. Some people love it. Some people don't. It really comes down to your personal opinion of soap. Or "gel." Whatever it is. Stuff that washes you! Whether you like the smell, or the texture.

I love the smell. I think it's sweet without being sickly, it's unique without being too crazy, and it's gentle without being weak. But that's just my opinion. If you're thinking about trying it, but you're not sure if you'll like the smell, my suggestion would be to head in to a Body Shop and just smell it first. Or if you're buying online, buy the smaller bottle. That way it doesn't go to waste.

I also loved that a little goes a long way, (my favourite saying) and it really lathers up good with a loofah. I use this in the shower, haven't tried it in the bath yet so I'm not sure what that would be like. But the shower, I love it! I use it all over except for my face and it really leaves my skin feeling smooth, and smelling great!

So my overall verdict? One of my favourite shower gels! This is something I will keep buying again and again when I run out, and even though it's a little bit on the expensive side, I'll still repurchase!
I'm considering trying the other Japanese Cherry Blossom products, and picked up the hand and nail cream a week or so ago too (which I also really love!)

So have you tried this? What did you think of it? Or do you have another go-to Body Shop (or non-Body Shop) shower gel/wash that you love?

Also ladies, this is a heads up! I'm planning a little give-away for reaching 100 followers! I'm not sure if it will be open internationally just yet, as I'm a bit blah with postage, but I will keep you all posted!

Australis Nudist Eye Shadow Palette

I was extremely happy to pick up the Australis Nudist Eye Shadow Palette on Monday from my local Target for only $9.95! I've been on the prowl for this one for a little while now after seeing another review on it.
I'm a big nudie fan, and I love natural colours as they're so easy to turn from an every day look to a going out look!

Needless to say, the colours are gorgeous. Sadly, all of the colours are more glittery and there are no matted colours, which is probably the only downside of this palette. I'm a fan of glittery colours mostly because I feel they make my eyes really pop, but it is a bit of a shame to have no matted colours at all. You never know when you'll need them!

Here are a few of the colours swatched, maybe you can try to pick them! The lighter colours didn't really show up, which is why I didn't bother with all of them. But as you can see they are highly pigmented, and they go on beautifully. I'm really happy with the outcome of the colours, they're so easy to blend and manage too.

As you can see here, the colours aren't original to the palette but come from different Australis palettes before it, but I'm not complaining. A palette with eight nudie colours altogether for only $9.95 is an excellent deal.
The palette itself comes with a double ended applicator. I never, ever use these for some reason, but it's really handy as I feel this is an excellent palette to travel with, something I could throw in my handbag, and if I can't be bothered digging out my precious brushes, I have a handy little brush and mirror right there for me. So all in all, it's a very handy little set.
I would definitely repurchase this!

Have you tried the Australis Nudist Palette, or any of the colours from another palette you may have tried already? What do you think of nude palettes?

Too Faced Natural at Night

A few days ago I received the Too Faced Natural at Night Palette in the post, and I couldn't be happier with it! I was a little hesitant after I bought it, as I figured maybe the colours would be all too similar for me, and it would be boring. I hadn't heard much about this one, it seems like the Matte Eye Shadow Palette (which was released about the same time - and is also great!) just soared above this one and nobody was talking about it.

But being the die-hard Too Faced fan that I am, I decided I would love it no matter what! Truthfully, when I opened the palette, I was pleased. I wasn't disappointed at all, as all of the colours are just beautiful! Definitely colours I would wear, and perfect for every day wear too!

As you can see here the colours are really neutral and some are matted while others are glittery, so it's a great mix, something Too Faced is never lacking in my opinion. My personal favourites already is the "Night" section, with Full Moon, Nightcap, and Cocoa Star. It's a very natural look and perfect for work!

Another great thing about Too Faced (gosh, they should be paying me for this!) is the beautiful cards that come inside the palette. They outline exactly how to create the perfect Night, Classic or Fashion look with the colours they've provided. The cards are both in English and French, which gives it a very classy feel! It's also a great little idea for someone who isn't too make-up savvy and has just started out! (Actually the whole palette is great for that!)

Overall, I absolutely love this palette! I already own more than a few of their others, and will be buying more until they stop making them! Would I buy this again? Absolutely!

So has anybody else tried this palette? What are your thoughts? Or do you have another palette you prefer?

I purchased this from Beautybay and it can be found here!

Sleek MakeUP Blush by 3

I received my Sleek "Oh So Special" palette the other day, I also got the Blush by 3 palette, and I've really wanted to review it. I was really excited to get this, as the website makes it look extremely glamorous and the fact that it was more expensive than the eye palette seemed to catch my eye!

The colour I chose was "Lace" which comes with these three colours. The one furthest to the left is more of a peach colour, whilst the middle colour is more shimmery, and the far right is a lovely bright pinky peach.

The product is amazingly pigmented, and the first time I used it I actually used far too much! A little goes a long way (my favourite saying) so I'm really pleased with it! The only problem that causes is that if you want a very subtle look, you have to be very careful not to get too much on your brush! But that's not a problem for me if you blend it enough it looks beautiful either way.

I'm wearing the far left colour hear, the matte peach colour. On camera, the other two look fairly similar so there was no point in showing all of them, just one picture to show you how strong the colour is with just a little used.

I'm very tempted to go back and by more, I'm really interested in getting "Flame" and "Sugar" as they both look gorgeous! I'm just worried they may be a little bit too strong for me!

Overall, I'm extremely happy with this set of blushes. Very pigmented, beautiful colours, no negative reports from me whatsoever.

Have you tried Sleek Blush by 3 yet? Or do you have another fail safe blush?

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

Today I'll be reviewing the newest foundation from Rimmel London; the "Wake Me Up Foundation" which boasts an "anti-fatigue effect plus radiant glow."
I figured this would be the perfect foundation for me as I work night shift and so I'm just always tired! Let's see if it really has the anti-fatigue look!

Firstly, the smell is amazing. I'm usually waiting for that real make-up smell, but with this, I was pleasantly surprised. Either that or I'm beginning to like the make-up smell! Some may not like it, but I enjoy the smell every time I use this!

The texture of this is extremely thick, which means a little goes a long way, which is always a statement I love to write! I feel like this pump bottle is going to last me a long time, which really helps, even though this wasn't very inexpensive at only $19.95. I've spent more on foundations that were pretty similar. (I also really love that it's a pump bottle and not just an open bottle that they expect it to just plop out everywhere!)

So after using it, I love it. This is probably going to be my day to day foundation from now on! It also goes hand in hand with the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder, which at the moment, Priceline is offering for free with a purchase of the Wake Me Up Foundation. Either that or a concealer, which I chose instead, as I'm already so in love with the Stay Matte Pressed Powder I already have two lots of them!

I wouldn't say it took away my fatigue, though, I think the eye make-up still has a big part to play with that. But it did make my skin look a lot fresher and more "radiant" as they claim. It was very moisturising so my skin doesn't feel dry at all after taking it off.

I've already converted my sister and now she loves this foundation too, she did a lovely review on it here (please check it out, she's new to blogging and she's pretty good!)

This picture may not do it justice but I promise you, I did look radiant!

So have you tried Wake Me Up yet, or do you have another favourite that you should share with me so I can run out and buy it!

Australis Multi Mega Lash Mascara

A few days ago I picked up the new Australis Multi Mega Lash Mascara (wow, what a mouthful!) and I'm head over heels for it! I like to think I'm one of the lucky ladies out there who have nice, long eyelashes, so I'm not a huge fan of fake lashes as mine are sufficient enough already! Which is why I AM a huge fan of mascara!

As you can see from above, the brush is pretty thick. I know it's supposed to be the thinner the brush, the better the application, but somehow I love the thick brushes. It reminds me of thick lashes, which is what I want.

The product boasts: "The mega brush simply coats lashes in one stroke. Keeps lashes light and flexible with the maximum pigment rich payoff."

I think I'd have to agree with their statement. It really does coat in just one stroke and I don't feel the need to apply a second coat at all. It didn't weigh my lashes down (which I have found to be a problem with other thick products) and it really was pigmented.

This has become one of my mascara favourites, definitely, and would recommend this to anyone wanting a nice defining look!

Sorry about my hideous eye makeup! The photo does not do it justice, but my eyelashes were noticeably longer and thicker when using this mascara.

I picked this beauty up from Priceline for about $11.00 on sale but usually retails for about $12.95. So an affordable mascara too! Check them out now on the Australis website!

Have you tried this mascara - or any of Australis' other mascara from their new range? Or do you have another favourite?

Body Shop Haul & Nail Polish Haul

Today I went to one of my favourite shops - the Body Shop! Every time I go in there I just can't resist buying something. Today I picked up four beauties I'd been eyeing for a while!

So what did I get?

Chocomania Body Scrub
Chocomania Shower Cream
Japanese Cherry Blossom Hand & Nail Cream
Japanese Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel

I'm a huge sucker for shower gels and soaps, so I just couldn't go past these. I'd used the Cherry Blossom gel in the past and I just adore it, but I had to pick up the Chocomania before they leave the shelves!
I've really been looking forward to using the Body Scrub, and no doubt a review will be showing up on my blog any day now as I'm sure I'll rave about it.
The smell is just glorious. It looks and smells like brownie mix!

What else did I get, you ask? Well, I couldn't help myself with these amazing Face of Australia Barbados Collection polishes, at under $5.00 each, how can I go past them? I plan on eventually getting the lot of them!
I picked up four:

Another Daiquiri Please
Orange You Glad You Came
Let's Go Scuba Diving
Calypso Gold

I also discovered my local pharmacy has a huge box of Ulta3 polishes at only $2.00 (I know that's the R.R.P but the pharmacy near my house is extremely overpriced so I'm happy!)
I got these in "Envy" and "Pink Supreme."

So what do you gals think of my mini haul today? Have you tried any of these products, if so what did you think?

April Lust Have It

I received my April "Lust Have It" package today, and unfortunately, for me, there was no surprise with this one. Due to some complications with my Glossybox payment, I inadvertently already saw what was coming on their website! Either way, I was still very pleased!
So, what did I get?

1. I Nuovi Glitteratti
This is basically just cosmetic glitter, which can go anywhere on your face (or body I suppose). Not sure when I'll ever use this, but I suppose it might use it for a party or something. It was a pretty generous amount, so I was pleased.

2. emerginC samples
There were three samples for the emerginC range, including Cleanser, Detox Mask (which I'm excited to try) and moisturiser. All of the full-size products here are worth a pretty penny, so I doubt I'll be going out buying them anytime soon! But it's always nice to try!

3. De Lorenzo Elements Ocean Mist Sea Salt Styling Spray
I love this! Pretty sure it was the full size, and if it isn't, it's a giant sample! I was very pleased with this, and I've already used it and love it!

4. True Solutions All Day Tinted Moisturising Cream SPF 30+
Pretty happy this as it's a good sample size, something I can take in an overnight bag somewhere. Hopefully, it's a nice moisturiser (at the price, it should be!) as I'm fairly fussy!

5. Spa Fresh Blends Romantic Discovery
This smells amazing, I can't wait to try it! Great size, and knowing me I'll probably buy more as I'm such a sucker for bath goods!

So overall, I was really pleased. I was a bit sad that it didn't come in a box like the others, however, the bag it comes with is really cute and I can use it as a cosmetics bag for travelling.

Are you signed up for "Lust Have It" and if not, are you signed up for anything else?

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

On my first Priceline haul to get the glorious Free Beauty Bag (which I shall forever be speaking of!) I picked up this little beauty. I've forever been on the search for a nude lipstick but always seem to forget whenever I go into the store. So I figured now was as good a time as any!

I chose the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in "Nude Delight." I'm a huge fan of Rimmel (most of my "drugstore" cosmetics are Rimmel) so I know this will work well for me, well before I even buy it! I have a few other lipsticks in the "Moisture Renew" line, sadly it's a small range, but they're one of my favourites!

Something that I like about the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks is the packaging. I've heard mixed opinions on this one, so I'll share mine too! I like it! I'm a sucker for cute packaging, and the glorious shiny purple is a real eye catcher for me, so what's not to love? Plus Rimmel's signature crown adds that cute charm!

I feel it stays true to its name and really moisturises my lips. One thing I liked about this one is that it truly did leave me with a "nude" look on my lips. I've swatched a few other lippies before and I find them either too dark, or too glittery or too glossy, or even too matted, to truly look "nude."
I think this one hit it's mark for me and has a nice middle ground.

Upon swatching I was a little concerned it might be too dark, but I have to keep reminding myself that my arm is so much whiter than my lips and that it should work fine! I'm happy I didn't pass on this!
And so it does! Here is the final result! It really did achieve the nude look I was after! Very natural and sophisticated, but still sexy! (At least I think so haha!)

So what do you think of this lipstick? Have you tried it? Or have you got another favourite nude lippy that you should be telling me about right now!

Priceline Haul & More!

After my last Priceline rampage, I decided to head back in. This time, I planned ahead with a list (which I promptly abandoned, of course).
My list included mascara, a new foundation and some bath products. Instead, I came out with the above.

1. Eco Tools Blush Brush
After reading how many people bought Eco Tools products to reach their $60 mark for the Free Beauty Bag, I decided to give them a try. They sound beautiful, and they're natural and earth friendly. I couldn't resist!

2. Australis IntensifEYE Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Purple
In my last haul, I picked up the bigger eyeshadow palette in pink and I am just in love with it, so I figured I would add my growing collection of brighter colours and purchase the purple! I know, I was naughty!

3. Revlon Color Burst Lipstick in Petal
I couldn't help myself! After receiving "Cherry Ice" in my Free Beauty Bag, I knew I needed more of these! Petal just caught me eye, so I decided to buy!

4. Innoxa Lovely Lips Lipstick in Waterlily
I saw a few people pick this colour up in the bag, and I fell in love! (I fall in love with too many different products, my boyfriend will be jealous!) I had to pick this one up and give it a whirl, as the one I received was a bit bright!

5. Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Red Velvet & Pink Truffle
I know, I know, I told myself I wouldn't buy anything that wasn't on my list, but how can I go past a two for one offer on the hottest product out right now? I picked up ultra light shades on my first haul, but after seeing people with slightly darker shades, I almost regretted my choice - until I decided to buy more instead of regretting! I made the right decision!

6. Rimmel "Wake Me Up" Foundation
Wow, the one thing that was actually on my list! I figured I'd give this a go as I've always had success with Rimmel before, and as I work a night shift, I thought this would be the perfect one for me. It boasts an "anti-fatigue effect" so we'll see how well that works! Plus, this came with a free "Stay Matte" Concealer, which I was very happy with!

7. Savvy by DB Luxury Liner in Gold
I read a few people who didn't like receiving this in their bag, as gold was so out of place. Well, I liked the gold so I had to go in store to buy it!

And in case you ladies didn't realise, this made me eligible for yet another Free Beauty Bag - although I generously gave it to my sister as she wasn't able to head to Priceline this month for the deal! (Am I a good sister or what!)

I was also given free samples for "Prestige Skin Nude Foundation" so I'll be giving that a whirl sometime soon! Always happy to get free samples!

(Yes, I did not mention the Revlon polishes... they're coming up!)

I also received a mystery parcel in the post, very intriguing! I ripped it open promptly to find this...

What's all this then? Did I fill out a Valley girl survey - a few months ago? I can't even remember entirely, but lucky for me they sent me this gorgeous backpack! I was so touched and really impressed with their level of customer service.

I always fill out these sort of surveys. Not only is it important for me to get my voice across about a brand I love and buy all the time, but it's important to give your opinion when they actually ASK for it! That means they're willing to listen and make changes based on what their customers wants and needs consist of.

I didn't fill this out knowing there would be any kind of gift, but let me just say I'm extremely pleased with Valleygirl right now that they took the time to actually recognise their customer's efforts. The parcel was even hand-written!

Last but not least, the Revlon polishes!

Steel-her Heart, Black Star, Metallic

I picked up these three from Ozsale.com.au, they were having a promotion for  these polishes, only $3.00 each! A big difference from the $14.95 in Priceline.
In case you can't tell, I seemed to have been going through a monochrome mood when I ordered these, and I was a bit disappointed in myself for not ordering more colours. Nonetheless, I'm happy at the price!

So that's my haul for today! What did you think?

Sleek "Oh So Special" Palette

I was super excited to receive my Sleek MakeUP "Oh So Special" Palette in the post today! I purchased this from the Sleek website, which lucky for me ships internationally, with a shipping cost of only $7.50! (Which can be cheaper than Australian websites!)

On the Sleek website, these only cost $10.50, which is a big difference from the $19.95 on other Australian websites. Plus with the $7.50 shipping, you're still paying less! Sure you'll wait a bit longer, but in my opinion, it's worth it!
I also picked up a Blush by 3, which I will review at a later point!

When I first checked out the website, I couldn't choose which palette to go for! They're all so beautiful! I figured this one was natural enough that I would use often, still with a few colours in there that make it a little extra special. So happy I chose this one, the colours are amazing.

For tonight, I tried out Bow, The Mail and Boxed for a more nature matte look. I'm really looking forward to wearing Organza, as you can see it's a beautiful pink glittery colour!

Colours from left to right:
Bow, Organza, Ribbon, Gift Basket, Glitz, Celebrate
Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up, Noir

I'll certainly be doing an F.O.T.D in the very near future featuring this palette, so look forward to that! Otherwise, I'm saving my money and going to head to the Sleek website in a few months to do a massive haul, as their makeup is just amazing!

Has any of you tried Sleek MakeUP before? If so, what did you think?

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel

Since February I've been using the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel every morning after my shower. My sister got me the Jurlique "Skin Renewal Starter Kit" which comes with this Herbal Recovery Gel, an eye cream and a night cream.
I'd never tried Jurlique before, but I was pleased to discover they were Australian and very natural!

Instantly the smell hit me, a gorgeous natural lavender smell, which my boyfriend described as "potpourri." Boys just don't get that natural smell, do they? I admit, the smell is a bit on the strong side, but I actually really enjoy it, and it doesn't linger around once you've finished using the stuff.

You only need one or two good pumps, this tiny bit of gel covers my whole face and leaves it feeling really refreshed! Initially, I thought this would be excellent for my Rosacea (skin redness!) and I was right! After I hop out of my morning shower, my face is usually as red as a beet. I don't even have it that hot! But this has since really calmed that redness down, and since I've been using the product, I even find when I hop out of the shower now, I'm not as red as I used to be.

This was the kit my sister got me. She picked this up from Mecca Cosmetica and I think it cost around the $60 mark, but I can't be sure as it's not available on their website as far as I can see.

As for the other products, in case you're interested now before I get a chance to review them myself, I love the eye cream! The night cream I've only used a few times, as I just use Egyptian Magic Cream on my face before bed, so I don't need anything else!

Overall I'll definitely be buying the full sized product the second this runs out! This retails from $72 on the Jurlique website, but I think it's worth it. (Although I do plan on being naughty and buying it from Beauty Bay where it retails for only about $50! And free shipping!)

Have you used Jurlique before? If so, what are your experiences?

Priceline Haul

So if you saw my recent post about the Free Beauty Bag from Priceline, you'll know you have to spend a minimum of $60 on products from the supporting brands.
This is my haul from Priceline, which not only got me to the $60 mark but actually pushed me over to about $90! (I don't mind, I was having so much fun trying to pick what to get, I got a little crazy!)

Australis "Intensifeye Wet/Dry Eye Shadow Palette" in Pink
I've been dying to try out the Australis Intensifeye palettes so this was the perfect opportunity. There were more natural colours there, but I just can't go past pink!

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butters in Sugar Frosting & Creamsicle
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight

Couldn't help myself with these ones! Firstly, it was a 2 for 1 deal on Revlon, so I had to snatch up these adorable lip butters everyone has been raving about!
The Rimmel is a lipstick I've always wanted to grab, so I used this as an excuse! I'm a sucker for nude lips!

Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz

I've never actually used a finishing spray before, I'd heard really good things about the E.L.F finishing spray, but it's not available to use on the Australian website - well, at least I haven't seen it. I've heard the biggest thing about that is the smell, I smelt this in store and it wasn't too bad, so I'll give it a go!

Nude by Nature "Get the Nude Look" Brush Kit
(Picked this up after a suggestion from my friend Chelsea! So happy I did!)
Probably my favourite purchase! This was about $30, and even though I'd already purchased enough for the free bag, I couldn't go past getting this. I've been looking out for it for a little while now anyway, but it's never been available in my local store.

For this deal I went into Melbourne CBD to their massive giant amazing store on Bourke Street Mall, so they had everything I was after!
(If you're in the Melbourne area and haven't checked it out, get in there! It's got such a huge selection and there are so many workers about who are extremely helpful!)

Wednesday 18 April 2012
