Nailene Artificial Nails *

Nailene So Natural in Everyday French

I was really excited to try out the Nailene So Natural artificial nails, as I actually have never worn false nails before! The natural ones appealed to me the most, since I don't like fake nails to look, well, fake!

The pack comes with 24 false nails in all different sizes, so you're practically guaranteed to find a nail that will fit! It also comes with some glue to keep the nails fixed in place!

The final product!
I really liked the effect of these nails. I think these particular ones look really natural, and not too fake. I found that the glue was a bit frustrating to work with. Being my first time, I found it a bit fiddly with how much to use, and ended up using not enough - so the nails ended up falling off quicker than expected.

This pack usually retails for about $14.99 which is amazing value, especially considering they are reusable!

Nailene Ultra Adhesive Tabs

After trying the first set of nails with glue, I decided to give my nails another makeover using the Nailene Couture Design Nails (below) using the Ultra Adhesive Tabs instead. The idea of the tabs is to use these stickers instead of glue so as not to damage the nails at all. I really like the idea of these, as you don't have to soak your nails in acetone to remove the fake nails. To remove the nails, you just roll the nail down gently, and the sticker will peel off easily without leaving any damage!

I found the stickers to be a little off size wise, which was a bit of a shame. But, being my first time using these as well, I think I'll get better at judging the sizes next time I give them a try. I found these a lot easier than glue - not fiddly at all, and so easy to peel off and place on the nail! (And yes, they were water resistant!)

These tabs usually cost about $8.99 which is definitely worth it, as they are so user-friendly!

Nailene Couture Design Nails
With the Ultra Adhesive Tabs in place, I started to apply the gorgeous design false nails! I love the design of these ones, as they are so chic and not at all tacky. This pack also comes with 24 reusable nails, and some glue, which I chose not to use this time around.

The final result!

I love the way these look! Using the Ultra Adhesive Tabs, I felt a lot more confident with the false nails on, and they felt a lot more natural. I didn't experience any nails falling off, or feeling loose! I did not that I obviously didn't apply the tabs properly, as there was a little bubbling beneath the nails - something I'll need to practice at! Aside from that, I was thoroughly impressed with the tabs and will certainly be using them next time I decide to try out false nails! No more glue for me!

When I removed the nails, it was ridiculously easy! My natural nails beneath were still shiny and smooth, with no residue left behind at all! Just another great reason I'll be using the Ultra Adhesive Tabs in place of glue!

The Couture Design Nails cost $16.99, such a great price for instant nail art!

Nailene Calcium Gel Tip Kit

I was so hesitant to try these out, as I knew I would have no idea what I was doing. My instant thought was: "But I don't have a UV lamp!?" Oh how silly I am! No need for a UV lamp at all with this kit! Basically you receive 40 nail tips - 20 in natural and 20 in white, that are attached to the end of your natural nails. I chose to try them out in the natural colour, as I found the white to be a little too strong for my taste.

The pack comes with the 40 nail tips, gel activator, gel overlay, a dropper, and a buffer. I found the process to be fairly straight forward. First you apply the gel overlay on your tip, which works as a glue to keep the tip in place. Then you paint your entire nail with the gel overlay again, and then drop one-two drops of the gel activator to cover the entire nail. You can repeat the process again if you want extra strength. (I did repeat, as I wanted the nails to be as strong as possible!)

I found that the next steps got a little hazy for me. The instructions weren't too clear on what to do next, so I was a little bit confused. From my understanding it says to buff the nail and fill in the gap between the nail and the gel tip, although I'm not too sure how that was supposed to work so I half skipped that step! (I tried, but failed! So if anyone has any tips - let me know, please!)

The finished product!

I ended up buffing the difference between the nail and tip a bit more, and it did look more natural. I was really pleased with the outcome of the Gel Tips! They felt really natural once on my nails, and didn't get in the way at all. There was no fear of them falling off, or breaking, and they were probably the most natural feeling of all the Nailene products I tested. I also loved how long my nails looked! I ended up painting them afterwards, and they looked amazing! I was really happy with the result!

When I did decide to remove them, they were to be removed by soaking them in acetone and waiting for the tips to dissolve. This took forever to do, and I was a bit sad that they weren't reusable! This gel kit does retail at $22.99 which is definitely a lot cheaper than going out to get a UV lamp!

Overall, I think my favourite of the three was definitely the Gel Tips! The Ultra Adhesive Tabs were a close second, and far easier if you're wanting to buy a fab set of nails to wear for an event (but still want to take them off for work the next day!) Being a fake nail virgin, I was super impressed with the quality of the products and how easy they were to use and apply! I can see myself popping into Priceline now and buying a big bag of false nails to have a play with, as I would definitely buy these again myself!

Have you tried false nails from Nailene before? If so, what did you think?
