I actually can't believe I haven't written a post about this product as yet, but to put it bluntly, the Schick Hydro Silk Razor is my new favourite product!
I've been using razors ever since I started shaving (which seems like a long time ago!) and I've always hated the idea of having to shave. I liked to think I was fairly skilled at the art of shaving, but like any girl, I still managed to cut myself every now and then.
I'm actually one of these freaks who shaves every single day. Sometimes twice. I know, you already think I'm weird. But hear me out! I absolutely hate the feeling of stubble on my legs. My hair actually grows at a ridiculously fast rate (that goes for any other hair on my body too,) and for a long time I was considering getting an epilator - until I heard that some people still have to do it every day. Knowing my luck, I'd spend a big amount of money on a good epilator only to find I still have to do it every single day! Yikes! The idea of laser hair removal was so tempting, but the money just didn't seem worth it.
Cue the Schck Hydro Silk Razor. When I first received this, I wasn't overly excited as hey - it's just a razor! But this razor has a few extra fancy parts! First, it has a unique skin guard to help product my skin from irritation. Always a good thing. Plus it has a whopping five curve sensing blades for the closest shave possible. Last but not least, it also has a moisturising serum that's water activated - to help keep your skin moisturised during the shaving process!
As you can see, it has an easy handle grip which fits perfectly in your hand, and doesn't slip out easily! It's also really light-weight, unlike some of those other razors with disposable heads! You can also see where the razor meets the handle - it has a button to remove the disposable razor head, and is so easily changeable I can actually do it in the shower, while I'm showering! (Some can be so difficult I have to fiddle with it for a while before even stepping into the bathroom!)
As you can see, this one has the five blades, along with the skin guard to help keep my skin from becoming irritated and dry. The outer light green part is where the water activated moisturising serum comes from, and when wet, it turns to a kind of gel; which helps keep my skin really smooth!

I've also never cut myself once with this razor! I've been using it ever time I shaved after receiving it in my April Her Fashion Box (which you can read here) and I haven't looked back! I had a stack of my old razors that I gave away to my sister, which were measly two blades!
Overall, I'm so happy I found this razor. The Schick Hydro Silk Razor has given me hope to shaving again, and I even now enjoy how easy and smooth it is! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who shaves every day, or has OCD about their hair stubble!
Have you tried the Schick Hydro Silk Razor yet? If so, what did you think?

Perfect timing, my razor was getting kind of raggy so I was going to pick up a new one! Thanks! Also, my sister got laser hair removal on her legs and she said it was one of the best things she could do as she could not be bothered to deal with it. You can look online for vouchers and coupons for a cheaper price!

I like these types of razors with the replaceable heads, but the heads are so expensive! I have a Venus one and for 4 'heads' it's like $17! ouch
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh yes, that's my only gripe with this one! I think the heads cost something like $20.. yikes! Although in their defense, they last forever so it's not too bad.. it's just annoying forking out that much at once!
Deleteyeah, I've noticed each one lasts quite a while
DeleteI seem to have the opposite opinion of this razor. Up until recently I've been using the Schick Quatro and I loved it but when this new Hydro one came out I was excited to try it. This razor hurts! No matter how much cream I'm using it feels like I'm dragging razor blades against my skin (which I know I am but I've never used a razor where it hurt with each pass). I've also never had more nicks or cuts than with this razor. The one thing I can say is it is a close shave but it is too close for me I guess.
