Tokyo Disneyland 2013

D27

If you're a keen follower of my blog and social media accounts, then you'll know my boyfriend and I took a well deserved holiday in early December to Tokyo! I did an entire post filled with pictures of our trip, but left out one day - our trip to Disneyland! (You can go back and take a look at my holiday snaps here.)

The weather in Tokyo during our stay was so mild it was almost like an autumn day in Melbourne, but of course the one day we decided to head to Disneyland was the day it decided to rain, so we ended up switching days and leaving Disneyland for our very last day. We decided we would go, rain or shine, and luckily the day was sunny, bright and almost warm!

D1

We arrived about 9:30am, and it wasn't too packed at all! All the workers were so nice, and there were no long lines to get into the park, so we were pretty happy! I was so lucky that my boyfriend took a backpack with him, so I didn't need to take a handbag!

D2

Already getting excited, and we weren't even inside yet!

D3

This was our first view of the park! It was all done up in Christmas decorations, and the tree at the center was amazing! There were people lining up to take pictures in front of it! I was already amazed at the attention to detail!

D4

The first ride we went on was the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, thing, but I forgot to take pictures I was just so excited! Also I had the ridiculous notion that you weren't allowed to take pictures... what was I thinking? The second ride we decided on was a train ride around the entire park, so we could get a good look at everything! Off in the distance is Thunder Mountain, a roller coaster that I was too scared to go on but eventually got coaxed into doing it. I'll admit, it was pretty fun!

D5

The Mark Twain Riverboat was something I really wanted to go on, but unfortunately we ran out of time, so I missed out!

D6

Critter County was one of the funner places, as it had Splash Mountain. I was so scared to go on, but eventually my boyfriend talked me into it, and we ended up being at the very front, so I got very scared and very wet! But it was really fun, so I would probably do it again! (Although we didn't do that ride until the end of the evening, so luckily it was the last thing we did before going home!)

D7

This was outside a food court themed like the Queen of Hearts - sadly we didn't go inside, as we ran out of time for that too, but the outside looked absolutely gorgeous!

D8

Another ride I didn't get to go on, but it looked spectacular from the outside!

D9

These little places were selling stuff, I just loved the detail and how much effort they put in to make it look great!

D10

The castle looked amazing! I was truly in awe when I saw it!

D11

The ceiling of the throne room! They had the throne as well, which I got to sit on and take a photo, but unfortunately the photo was a little blurry so I won't share it here! Being inside the castle was amazing, and every little detail was just perfect!

D12

We arrived just in time to see the parade, and we saw our favourite - Aladdin! I was actually surprised to see a lot of the actors were Westerners and not locals, but I guess they wanted to get it as close to real as possible.

D13

I'm pretty sure this was the girl from Tangled, but I can't be sure. Correct me if I'm wrong?

D14

Cinderella & Belle were gorgeous as ever! Tinkerbell was also on this float, but I didn't get a chance to get a good picture of her!

D15

Alice from Alice in Wonderland was gorgeous! Her and the Mad Hatter were both Westerners and actually stopped my boyfriend and I in the park as they were walking around to say hi! It was so lovely!

D16

Pooh bear and Tigger! They were so cute!

D17

Mary Poppins - I was amazed at how well her character was pulled off!

D18

Now for the classics! Donald and Daisy Duck!

D19

Micky and Minnie Mouse!
The entire thing was pretty amazing, and sadly we ended up missing out on the night time one, but I'm happy that we caught the day one. All of the actors were so enthusiastic, so it was really cute to see all the kids getting so excited!

D20

Noticed this cute little Stitch among the Tiki statues! There was a Lilo & Stitch ride, but I think it was for kids so we opted not to go - next time I will be though!

D21

Daylight was coming to an end, and the castle looked amazing in the sunset I just had to take another snap!

D22

The Haunted Mansion was one of my favourite rides! It was Nightmare Before Christmas themed, and the attention to detail was simply astounding! I wanted to go again, but the lines were too long!

D23

Tomorrow Land was also really fun! We went on a Star Wars simulator 3D ride, which was really fun, but the lines were super long. Unfortunately we missed out on some of the rides like Space Mountain, but we'll definitely be going back next time for that!

D24

We thought we'd walked around the entire park when we realised we'd completely missed out on Toon Town! This part of the park was so cute, and everything looked all cartoon like! We got the most amazing caramel popcorn here, and I'm dreaming of it constantly back home!

D25

The lights in the park at night were gorgeous! By this time of the night, I couldn't stop smiling! I didn't want the day to end, but sadly it had to!

D26

I bought a Minnie Mouse bow for myself, and I bought a Monsters Inc Sully hat for my boyfriend, but for some reason he wanted to switch and do a silly photo! A lovely worker noticed me trying to take a selfie of us with the castle in the background, and kindly offered to take the picture for us! This really made our night, as now we have a fantastic picture to remember the day forever!

When they say that Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, they really weren't joking! I couldn't stop smiling the entire day, I had the most amazing food (turkey legs - noms!) and went on some rides I never thought I would! It was the happiest day of my life so far! We are already planning another trip back at the end of this year, but this time we're going to give ourselves a few days and by a three day pass (or maybe even four days if I can convince the boyfriend) so we get a chance to experience everything! I'm even considering booking into the Disneyland Resort so we can be close by! (And then we can visit the DisneySea Park, which is exclusive to Tokyo!)

The night ended with us leaving just about closing time, and as we were walking over the bridge towards the train station, we saw their nightly fireworks! They were the best fireworks I've ever seen, they even had them in heart shapes and Micky Mouse shapes! It was a fantastic end to the night!

I'm happy we ended our holiday with Disneyland, because it was really the highlight of our trip, and the perfect way to end our holiday!

Have you ever been to Disneyland? If so, did you love it as much as I did?
