January Lust Have It!

LHI1

Originally I wasn't going to review the January Lust Have It! box (that arrived on the 10th of February) but eventually I decided I should share my thoughts on delayed box.

I received my box in a normal post box, not the usual Lust Have It! box. Apparently the reason behind this is because LHI is going through another image change, despite the fact other January subscribers still received the usual box.

LHI2

The card was smaller than usual, and featured a teaser for the February box.

LHI3

The products for January.

LHI4

Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil

This is such a tiny sample, that I think most people with long hair will be lucky to get two-three uses. In saying that, I do enjoy testing new hair oils so this will be used. Thankfully this is not in a sachet!

LHI5

Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear in Medium

At first I was excited to see this in my box, until I saw that it was tinted, and it was medium. I honestly don't know why they bother sending out products that are categorised in "light/medium/dark" because they are only pleasing potentially one third of their subscribers. I get that they try to include neutral products, but I feel this is the opposite of that.

LHI6

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes Sample Pack

I don't know why we get sample packs of these kinds of facial wipes, especially considering how cheap they are for the full pack. Either way, I always use wipes when I'm swatching makeup so these will come in handy.

LHI7

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant

This is probably the product that will get the most use. I'll definitely give it a go, although I wasn't too keen when I first saw it. I've always wanted to try Paula's Choice though so this will be a good stepping stone.

LHI8

Paula's Choice Moisture Boost One Step Face Cleanser in Normal to Dry Skin

According to the card, I was supposed to receive the oily/combination skin version of this, which would have been much better for my skin. Normal to dry definitely won't do it for my skin. In saying that, I can't use this anyway as it arrived damaged, and the lid is faulty so I can't even open it. Lust Have It! offered to replace it, but there's really no point as I won't even use the product when I get it, so it would be a waste.

--

Overall, I was really disappointed in this box. Lust Have It! eventually made a statement apologising for the delays and whatnot, but it was all too late in my opinion. As an annual subscriber, I was really saddened to see that my box was sent out in the last cycle. Shouldn't the late subscribers be sent out in the last cycle, not the people who actually paid months ago? Most of the other boxes I have seen also had an extra product, so that was also a disappointment.

After my annual subscription runs out, I doubt that I'll resubscribe. The fact that I am left until last and am getting the "left over" products (or so it feels) makes it fairly reluctant to give over my money to them again. The February boxes have already begun to be sent out (and I note again that I am not in the first sent cycle) so I will reserve judgement to see if they can redeem themselves.

Just for a bit of comparison, check out what my friend Sophie got. She is a new subscriber, who pays month to month. (Not that anyone should get special treatment, but just so I can put it into perspective!) You can read about her box here.

Did you receive your January Lust Have It! on time? If so, what did you think? How does your box compare?
