Sugarpill Cold Chemistry Palette

cc2

Since the new year, I've held off buying new makeup. Because of that, I've been exploring my current collection and falling in love all over again with products I have completely forgotten about. One palette that I've started using again is the gorgeous Cold Chemistry Collection from Sugarpill. Sugarpill are known for their bright and fun colours. I'm a fan of darker colours myself, so when they released their Cold Chemistry colours, I was intrigued and knew they had to be mine.

cc3

The packaging is just stunning. I love how artistic Sugarpill is with their packaging. I love the diamonds on the back cover!

Covergirl Tru Blend Foundation & Concealer

foundation2

I never tried the original Covergirl Tru Blend, so when I saw that Covergirl had reformulated, I decided to give it a go. I'm an avid user of the Covergirl Outlast foundation, which is a huge winner in my books, so I had high hopes for the Covergirl Tru Blend as well.

foundation3

Covergirl Tru Blend Foundation in Ivory

I chose the lightest shade available in Australia, as I'm fairly pale. The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump, making it super easy for application. This foundation is a very lightweight liquid foundation and on application, goes on very smoothly. Coverage is on the lighter side, however this still gives off a really natural finish, which is great if you're looking for something that blends in with your own skintone. I find that it lasts all day even without powder, which is a big plus.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Shadows*

mk1

I'm a pretty big fan of Mary Kay products, so I had high hopes for the new Mary Kay Cream Eye Shadows when they arrived on my doorstep. Like all other Mary Kay products, these products were dressed to impress with their chic packaging.

mk2

Violet Storm, Meadow Grass, Coastal Blue, Glacier Gray
I received four of the new colours that have been released in Australia. I was delighted to see some very unique shades, so I couldn't wait to try them out. At first glance, I fell in love with Glacier Gray, as it seemed the most wearable shade for every day use.

Products To Use When You're Sick

sick1

Last week and part of this week, I've been pretty ill. When I went to the doctor, they told me it was my original infection that I actually took antibiotics for, and it's come back even worse. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled. So, I'm on more antibiotics now and trying to recover. Being that I was so sick, I've avoided my makeup at all costs so as not to contaminate anything. But that got me thinking - maybe I should share what products I do use when I sick.

sick2

Just a few of the products I use when I'm sick to ease my pain and make myself feel halfway decent without the use of makeup.

Savvy by DB Perfect Pout Lipstick Kit

pp1

A while ago, I picked up the Savvy by DB Perfect Pout Lipstick Kit from Priceline. This was on sale during the Christmas period, so I couldn't resist this gorgeous mini pack. I'm a big fan of discount brands, so I had high hopes for this one.

pp2

The packaging is super cute. Although they're only mini lipsticks, they still have the logo and the names printed on the bottom of the tube. They look professional, and I'm glad they went to so much detail.

Dirty Works Mini Luxuries*

dw1

I've tried a few products from discount brand Dirty Works, and so far I've been loving them. When I was offered the chance to try out their new Mini Luxuries gift set, I was pretty excited. I've so far tried only one of the products included, so there were three brand new goodies for me to try out.
dw2

The Dirty Works Mini Luxuries pack comes with four travel friendly products, which is perfect for testing new products out. I'm hoping to travel very soon, so I'll be sure to pick up another one of these packs before I do.
dw4

Not only are these four little treasures travel friendly, but they're also gorgeous in design. I love that their mini versions have retained the original look of the packaging, so they don't lose any cuteness whatsoever. I also found the packaging to be pretty sturdy, especially for travel, so I think they've done very well.
dw3

I've so far only tried the Think of England Bath Soak once. It gives a good amount of bubbles and has a nice subtle scent, so definitely something worth using if you want to relax. The Bare Necessity Body Lotion smells delicious, and is actually a really nice lotion. It absorbs very quickly and helped keep my skin nice and moisturised. The Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub is the one I have used before, and use religiously at the moment. It's one of my favourites, so I'm pretty impressed to have this in a mini size so I can take on my travels. The All of a Lather Body Wash is something else I've only tried once, but so far really liked it. I'm no too fussy when it comes to body washes, so it's pretty hard not to like this one.

--

Overall I think this is a great little set. It's perfect for a gift, or for yourself. This is a great introductory pack if you haven't experienced anything from Dirty Works before, so I would definitely recommend.

You can pick this set up for just $14.95 anywhere that stocks Dirty Works (usually stocked at your local supermarket, or for a more extensive range, your local Target) which I think is a really decent price.

Have you tried anything from Dirty Works yet? If so, what are your thoughts? Do you have a favourite product from them?

Favourites - The Boyfriend Edition

men1

I thought I'd do something a little bit different on the blog today and share my boyfriend's favourite products. My boyfriend Alex is a huge part of my life, as is blogging, so it seems only natural to combine the two. He has written a guest post for my blog before which was fairly popular, so I thought I'd share some of his current favourites with you all!

men2

Elemis Deep Cleanse Facial Wash*

Facial cleansing used to be almost non-existent with my boyfriend, until we discovered a few products that he liked and felt happy to use. When I received the Elemis Deep Cleanse Facial Wash for him to try, I was hesitant that he'd like it. He took one sniff and declared it to be a winner in terms of scent. Thank goodness. He's been using this for a good month or so now and he's really grown to like it; with a big, rough beard, this helps keep his skin feel refreshed whilst also managing to keep his skin actually looking nice. A big winner in his books.

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Creams v2

AUS1

Just over a year ago, Australis released five gorgeous shades of their new Velourlips. Obviously there was a huge success with them, as now Australis has released five more shades. The original five were fairly bright and vibrant, however this time the colours have been softened to a nice hue of wearable pinks.

AUS2

As I was so excited by the original release, it was pretty obvious that I was going to rush out and buy all five shades at once. It's taken my a while to collect all five as they were sold out in many stores, but I've finally gotten my hands on them.

Beat The Heat: Skincare

w6

This summer has been a bit of a scorcher, so it's a no brainer that I've been using up a bunch of products to try and ease my journey through summer. One issue that I always have in the hot weather is chafing. Chafing is irritation of the skin caused by repetitive friction; and it's often made worse by sweat and heat. I'm sure that everyone reading this has experienced chafing in one way or another, so I've decided to share a few of my favourite products to help ease the symptoms of chafing.

W1

I've chosen four of the major products that I've been using recently to help my chafing. Each of them I use in different situations and for different types of chafing or skin irritation, and all of them are easy to find and buy.

New Lush Cosmetics Releases*

L1

If you're a fan of Lush, you may have noticed that they're releasing a few new products today! I was extremely lucky enough to be able to try out a few of these new goodies before the release date, so my review is just in time if you're not too sure what to buy. I was so excited when I opened this box of goodies - needless to say the smell was just amazing!

L2

Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb

This is absolutely huge, so I actually cut mine in half. This is half spice, half citrus and just smells delightful. This is less bubbly than majority of the bubble bars I've tried in the past, but that's definitely not a negative. Much like all the other bath bombs I've tried from Lush, it was amazingly relaxing and very soothing on my skin. I would definitely buy this one again.

The Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb costs $6.75 and you can purchase it here.

December Empties

EM1

I can't believe another year is done and dusted. Throughout December I used up a few products, so I'm pretty proud of myself. One of my many New Years Resolutions is to try and use up all the products I have before using more. Sure, I may absolutely adore a certain body scrub - but why buy more when I can try something knew that I already own! So hopefully we'll be seeing a few different products here.

EM2

All the products I used up this month.
