Colourpop x Hello Kitty Hello Pretty Collection

Colourpop x Hello Kitty Hello Pretty Collection Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little while ago, I made my first ever Colourpop Cosmetics order. Falling in love, I made another. And another. When they announced they were collaborating with world renown character Hello Kitty, I was beyond delighted. I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan so I knew I needed to grab at least one thing from the new collection. I ended up picking up a few bits and pieces, one of them being the Hello Pretty Collection.

The Hello Pretty Collection came in a gorgeous Hello Kitty gift box that didn't feel tacky or cheap. The colour scheme they went with made the collection look more grown up and not embarrassing to own, without losing any of Hello Kitty's cute charm.

Biore Baking Soda Skincare

Biore Baking Soda Skincare Review - Sweetaholic Beauty

A while ago, Biore released two new products - so of course, I had to grab them. The new products were part of a "baking soda" line, which I found very intriguing. I've been using them now for the past few months so I thought I would share my thoughts.

Biore Baking Soda Skincare Review - Sweetaholic Beauty

I got both of the new products, the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub. At this stage, there are only the two products in the Baking Soda range.

I was a tad concerned when I saw these products used baking soda, however, as I had read a lot of interesting information about baking soda being a good exfoliant for the skin but also not being super healthy for the skin long-term. I believe that their baking soda products are pH balanced, though, which is good news as it's the high pH levels in baking soda that usually create problems. But, in saying that, I'm not great at the science side of stuff so I'll just share my honest opinions about the products.

Five Face Mists To Try This Summer

Five Face Mists To Try This Summer - Sweetaholic Beauty

In the land down under, summer is well and truly here. We've had a few choice heat waves but the weather has been fantastic. However, it's only going to get hotter and for those of you who have to struggle through the heat without an air conditioner - such as myself - then you'll more than likely be relying on a fan and a face mist to save the day. I've put together a few of my favourite face mists to help get you through this Aussie summer.

Five Face Mists To Try This Summer - Sweetaholic Beauty

I'm a huge fan of a face mist if I'll be honest. For a long time, I considered it to be simply just water with no real benefit - plus a massive waste of money. But with age comes wisdom, and I soon discovered the many hidden benefits of facial mists. Well, most of them anyway. Some of them are just packaged expensive water.

I've chosen five face mists - all of which double as toners - that I rely on either as part of my regular skincare routine or as a pick-me-up throughout the day.

Priceline Your Summer Skincare Gift Bag

Priceline Your Summer Skincare Gift Bag - Sweetaholic Beauty

A few weeks ago, I popped into my now local Priceline store (I have moved houses so Priceline is now a five-minute walk from my house) and picked up the awesome gift with purchase deal, the Your Summer Skincare Gift Bag. This one is a bit different to their regular skincare, haircare and makeup bags and actually began just last year. You can read about last year's bag here.

This bag was jam packed with lots of skincare products. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of new products that weren't included in the bag last year.

Dupe Alert: Urban Decay vs. Maybelline - Setting Sprays

Dupe Alert: Urban Decay vs. Maybelline Setting Sprays - Sweetaholic Beauty

I've never really been a huge fan of makeup setting sprays - I had always been reluctant to spend big bucks on what I thought was just fancy water. Earlier this year, I splurged and purchased the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray after hearing so many reviews. I was getting desperate as my makeup was usually melting off my face by the end of the day, and I knew there had to be some secret to it.

Long story short, I fell head over heels in love with the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray and begun to use it religiously. I experimented with others but all roads led back to Urban Decay.

Dupe Alert: Urban Decay vs. Maybelline Setting Sprays - Sweetaholic Beauty

I was perfectly happy with using Urban Decay but was a tad concerned about the amount of money I'd be spending on keeping my face in place. I really did want to find a dupe. Enter the Maybelline Master Fix Wear Boosting Setting Spray*.

This was gifted to me as part of the Maybelline Winter Releases earlier this year. I was excited to try it but honestly didn't expect miracles. But after using it for the last six months, I believe this is par with the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray.

New Garnier Skin Active Products*

New Garnier Skin Active Products - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little while ago, I was lucky enough to receive this gorgeous gift pack in the post from Garnier Skincare. I adore Garnier and have always used their products, so this was pretty exciting for me. The three products I received were part of the Garnier Skin Active range.

New Garnier Skin Active Products - Sweetaholic Beauty

The first product, and my absolute favourite, is the Garnier Skin Active Pure Active 3 in 1 Charcoal Anti-Blackhead Wash, Scrub and Mask. Phew, what a mouthful. Because it's loaded with charcoal goodness, it helps to draw out impurities. As my skin isn't so bad these days, I love using it as a mask once a week. As I'm washing it off, the scrubbing action takes effect and helps exfoliating my skin. Afterwards, I'm practically glowing.

My Beauty Advent Calendars 2016

My Beauty Advent Calendars 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

Guys... I'm back! It's been about a month since I actually blogged. I think the stress of the new job, being sick and the looming idea of Christmas just stressed me out to the point where I lost all motivation to hop onto the computer. Thankfully, my work is becoming second nature now, I'm not sick anymore and I can actually enjoy the idea of Christmas coming up. I can't believe we're already in December - this year truly feelings like it's just swept by.

I decided since I didn't treat myself to any of the beauty advent calendars last year, I was going to get this all this year! Well, not all of them but some of them at least. I settled on three major ones for the entire month but also caved and grabbed a smaller "12 days of Christmas" one.

My Beauty Advent Calendars 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

The advent calendars I grabbed are almost too cute to open. It's already the 5th of December and I still hadn't documented any of my new goodies on social media until today. Make sure you're following along on my Snapchat (sweetaholic01) to find out what's inside each day.

Mecca Beauty Loop Box Level 1 - October 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

For the first time ever, I qualified for the Mecca Beauty Loop Box! I probably had qualified in the past, but when I popped in the store I realised I had the wrong email address listed with them - oh and I had no idea how the Beauty Loop Box program worked, which might have helped. So, I figure I would share my excitement with you all and show you what's inside the Mecca Beauty Loop Box for level 1.

Level one contained four sample sized products. I was actually pretty excited by everything included in the box. Usually, free sample boxes don't usually contain such awesome sample products.

Colourpop Cosmetics Free Shipping Haul

Colourpop Cosmetics Free Shipping Haul - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little while ago, Colourpop Cosmetics hosted one of their amazing free international shipping events - and I just couldn't say no this time. I've been a really awful beauty blogger and have actually never tried anything from Colourpop before, despite pretty much everything in their range getting top marks on social media.

Colourpop Cosmetics Free Shipping Haul - Sweetaholic Beauty

Being that the shipping costs are usually the major deterrent for me, I decided to give them a go during their free shipping period to see if I liked them. If so, I'll happily pay for shipping next time I want to do a haul. (Since then, Colourpop has actually announced they'll be doing free international shipping until the end of the year! Plus they've announced a Hello Kitty collab. Sorry bank account.)

Halloween with Lush Cosmetics - Sweetaholic Beauty

Is it really Halloween without a Lush Cosmetics Halloween Collection? Halloween is one of my all-time favourite holidays. Despite the fact we don't celebrate it much here in Australia, I love seeing companies and brands get behind it and start to bring this wonderful holiday to life for those of us who do love it.

I was lucky enough to be sent some of the gorgeous Lush Cosmetics Halloween products, so I thought I would give my thoughts on this year's creations.

I received a total of seven products from this year's collection, four of them being completely new to me. I also have to note that this year's collection smelt absolutely amazing.

Ulta 3 Tribal Talk Collection Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

Now that the weather is warming up, we're seeing some gorgeous summer collections being released. One of the newest releases is the Ulta 3 Tribal Talk collection  - a collection of five shades available in Ultra Matte Longwear Lip Creams and Longwear Lip Liners.

Ulta 3 Tribal Talk Collection Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

The great thing about this collection is that you can actually buy the entire set together, as well as separately. If you buy a duo, as in the Longwear Lip Cream and the Longwear Lip Liner, it'll cost you just under $13. Pretty decently priced if you ask me.

The crowds were absolutely insane - the lines were longer than I ever imagined, and people had been waiting since early on in the morning. It was satisfying yet guilt-inducing to be allowed in before them all. That being said, the atmosphere was very exciting. Being invited as part of the media, I was also offered 20% off anything in-store for my first shopping trip.

September Empties

September Empties - Sweetaholic Beauty

Last week, I promised you all that I'd be back. Then I forgot to upload yet again. Oops. As I mentioned in my last blog post, I have actually started a brand new job so I'm pretty gosh darn pooped.  I also had a huge week of after-work and weekend activities, which meant pretty much no time for blogging. Another oops.

September Empties - Sweetaholic Beauty

Better late than not at all, I decided I would share my empties nonetheless. I've made sure to only include the products I used up in September so that I can publish a regular empties post. I'm actually pretty proud of how many products I used up last month, though.

Models Prefer Make Me Blush Palette

Wow, it's been a long week and it's only Monday. Apologies again for not posting so much. I've just started a brand new job so I've been so pooped! However last week I popped into Priceline and I picked up the new Models Prefer Make Me Blush Palette. I've seen this on social media a few times and loved the look of it, so I just had to grab it.

Models-Prefer-002

Much like other Models Prefer products, the Make Me Blush palette is the standard shiny black finish with the gold writing. I love the Models Prefer packaging as it always looks so chic and special, considering this is so cost effective.

NYX Cosmetics The Go-To Palette

NYX Cosmetics The Go-To Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

Ever since NYX Cosmetics hit Aussie shores, I've been stalking the shelves of Priceline trying to find this palette. I'd read a few reviews online saying it wasn't so hot, but I got a chance to try it out at an NYX Cosmetics event back in July and just had to get it for myself.

NYX Cosmetics The Go-To Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

There are actually two versions of this palette; this one is called Wanderlust. This is the perfect palette for travelling or keeping in your handbag as it has six eyeshadow shades and three cheek shades. This retails for $34.95 which is relatively reasonable.

Wow - I've been a bit absent from the blog lately, so for that, I apologise. I've had a rather full on few weeks, so the time has just gotten away from me. This post does come a little late, considering the Lust Have It Birthday Box arrived in August. I still wanted to share my thoughts on the birthday box though as this was my reintroduction to Lust Have It!

The Body Shop Base Game Strong Goodies - Sweetaholic Beauty

After a particularly horrible day at work, I came home to find a rather exciting package from The Body Shop featuring some of their new base products. I'm a huge fan of The Body Shop and their glorious skin care products however I am a little less experienced with their makeup range. I figure this pack will be an excellent chance to try a few things out.

The products were sent out to me via the Base Game Strong campaign. This campaign is all about getting your base right as it's pretty much the only trend that stays the same. In saying this, The Body Shop has released these new base additions to their current range so I thought I'd give a bit of an overview.

Earlier this month, Nikita and I brought Bloggers United AU back to Melbourne. This was our second official event in Melbourne and I have to say, it went off without a hitch! For those of you who don't know, Bloggers United AU is a blogging community created with the idea of bringing bloggers and brands together, as well as creating a supportive environment for Aussie bloggers.

Surprisingly we managed to get a group shot - as you can see there are so many of us! We had a full house of attendees, as well as a number of amazing brands and guest speakers.

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge*

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge - Sweetaholic Beauty

A little over a month ago, I was approached by one of my favourite Aussie brands - MooGoo Skincare - who asked if I would be interested in taking their MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge. I actually learnt a little bit about their natural deodorant back when I attended their Bloggers Luncheon in Melbourne, however, the idea of switching over sounded a bit too daunting for me at the time, so I gave it a miss.

But when MooGoo sent me some information about their natural deodorant again and the differences between their product and regular deodorant, I was convinced to give it a go.

The MooGoo 28 Day Natural Deodorant Challenge - Sweetaholic Beauty

The scariest thing about most regular deodorants and antiperspirants is that they actually contain aluminium, which is actually used to block your pores to prevent sweat. Sweat is  a natural function, and although it may smell bad sometimes, it needs to be released. So, why are we trying to keep that inside of us? Kind of gross when you think of it like that. There has also been a study undertaken to discover whether there is a link between regular on the shelf deodorants and antiperspirants and breast cancer. While there is no concrete link, the studies are looking a little scary.

At the end of the day, though, switching to natural deodorant is a pretty personal choice. I decided to go natural as I would rather not have my pores clogged by something potentially dangerous.

Priceline Sale Haul

Last week, Priceline had one of their famous 40% off sales. I was absolutely set on not buying a single thing but a trip down to shops for pain-killers ended in a cheeky haul. With 40% off skincare products, I really couldn't resist grabbing a few things.

Collaboration - Beauty Through The Decades: Futuristic

This is a little bit out of my usual blogging schedule, but when I had the chance to take part in a super cool collaboration with a few other amazing bloggers, I jumped. Originally set up by gorgeous girl Barb from Fashionista in Suburbia, myself and five other bloggers have decided to bring you Beauty Through The Decades. The idea behind this is that we create a look based on a decade given to us. I had the job of creating a futuristic look - which was not at all daunting until I realised the world was my oyster and I had next to nothing to go on.

Seeing that I love my sci-fi and I specifically love anything with a dystopian future plotline, I decided to pull inspiration from one of my newer favourites; Mad Max Fury Road. I was specifically drawn to Charlize Theron's character.

Collaboration - Beauty Through The Decades: Futuristic - Sweetaholic Beauty

I decided on a messy smoky eye and black eyeliner. I ended up opting out of using false lashes. I considered my look to be very basic and easy going, while still following some of the trends we're seeing today. Heavy and messy eyebrows, and just a slight contour. Dewy more natural skin, showing off freckles and beauty spots. Oh and just a light glaze on the lips.

There are actually two versions of this palette; this one is called Wanderlust. This is the perfect palette for travelling or keeping in your handbag as it has six eyeshadow shades and three cheek shades. This retails for $34.95 which is relatively reasonable.

Lust Have It Birthday Box*

Lust Have It Birthday Box - Sweetaholic Beauty

Wow - I've been a bit absent from the blog lately, so for that, I apologise. I've had a rather full on few weeks, so the time has just gotten away from me. This post does come a little late, considering the Lust Have It Birthday Box arrived in August. I still wanted to share my thoughts on the birthday box though as this was my reintroduction to Lust Have It!

The Lust Have It box actually comes in a bag now. I got this really cute pink mesh bag with this month. The bag also contains a card with all the important information about the goodies that we receive.

The Body Shop Base Game Strong Goodies*

August Lip Monthly*

August Lip Monthly - Sweetaholic Beauty

Another month has passed, and it's time again for my monthly Lip Monthly. The August Lip Monthly arrived a tad later this month, but I ain't complaining.

This month didn't have a specific theme, but the bag is very cute. I love the bright colours so I was expecting some lovely summery shades.

August Empties

August Empties - Sweetaholic Beauty

I've been a bit quiet on the blogging from the past month, but I'm back and have a new schedule for this month - so expect to see more of me. I actually used up a load of products this past month, which is surprising, so this is a bit of a lengthy post.

All the products I ended up using this month. So many products!

Bloggers United AU Melbourne Event Recap

I only picked up four products. I actually had a Priceline voucher and was planning on waiting for my store to get NYX Cosmetics, but the call for skincare was too great.

July Favourites

July Favourites - Sweetaholic Beauty

Another stupidly stressful month has passed, and I still can't believe we're past the mid-year mark. This month my favourites were a little easier to distinguish as I found a few new loves, and rediscovered some old loves too.
