Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette - Review & Swatches

Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

It's been a long time since I've been able to splurge on a big makeup purchase, so when I saw that Sephora Melbourne was stocking the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette, I knew it had to come home with me. I've been lusting over this palette since it was released, and all the stunning swatches on Instagram really helped seal the deal.

The Mi Vida Loca palette is a little different in design. Rather than a traditional palette, it's just one flat surface that slides in and out of it's casing. No mirror and no lid to break, which means it's actually ideal for travelling if you're going to need a lot of shades. It's also completely flat so it definitely doesn't take up a lot of room. Although in saying that, it is bigger than I thought it would be.

The colours are so vibrant and fresh, and upon swatching there were a few shades in here that I'm sure will be unique to my collection. My OCD went a little bit haywire trying to figure out the best way to swatch all the shades, but when I gave up on trying to get the maths perfect, I had a lot of fun playing with the colours. All of them were creamy and easy to apply, and blend relatively well. I would say a lot of the colours at first swatch were not as bright as I expected, but could be built up easily; so the shades could be quite versatile.

All of my swatches were about two-three swipes each using no eyeshadow primer.

As you can see, there is a diverse collection of colours and finishes. I think the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette is a great collection for anyone who loves colour. I've already used a few of the colours in every day makeup looks, and I find that because the colour is buildeable, it's easier to blend them for a more day-to-day look.

Unfortunately I can't find this on the Sephora website so I'm unsure if it's even still available in stores, however if you can, this is definitely a palette worth picking up. From memory it was not as expensive as I was expecting, but I honestly can't remember the exact amount.

This year I'm going to try and incorporate makeup looks, so hopefully you'll be seeing more of these shades soon.

Have you tried the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette? If so, what are your thoughts? Are you considering picking up this palette? Which shade is your favourite?
