Three of the Best Frizz Control Products

Three of the Best Frizz Control Products for Your Hair - Sweetaholic Beauty

After bleaching my hair, and colouring it, and bleaching it again, and colouring it again - my hair tends to get a tad damaged. When you're dealing with damaged, fried hair, you're usually dealing with frizziness and flyaways. My hair has never been the smoothest it could be, even before the chemical damage; so it was pretty safe to say that I needed to try something to sooth it. My hair is naturally oily too (not a great combination) so it was always a struggle to find something that helped sooth my hair, without creating a giant oily mess.

Three of the Best Frizz Control Products for Your Hair - Sweetaholic Beauty

I've been using these three products recently on rotation, so I thought I would share my thoughts on all three of them. A while ago I was introduced to the John Frieda Frizz Ease range, and thus began my quest to find the perfect products.

Mermaid Nails with Julisa Nails*

Mermaid Nails with Julisa Nails - Review & Swatches

A little while ago, I was contacted by indie nail brand Julisa. They asked if I would be interested in swatching some of their nail polishes, and after taking a quick look at their selection, I quickly agreed. I chose three shades and felt that I would share my best mermaid nails with you all.

Mermaid Nails with Julisa Nails - Review & Swatches

A little bit about the brand first - Julisa is a brand run by two sisters and they create 5-free, cruelty free, vegan friendly nail polish. They are also locally made on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and they also donate 5% of their profit towards environmental sustainability initiatives. These were big factors in me falling in love with the brand right away.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation Comparison*

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation Comparison - Sweetaholic Beauty

A few years ago, I received the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation* to trial and review. This was a re-release of an older formulation, so I was excited to try. I instantly fell in love, and it became my day to day foundation. I took it overseas with me as it was so versatile and perfect for every day wear.

Recently, I received the re-release of my favourite formula. It has been reformulated, so I was interested to try this one out. As I'm such an avid fan of the "original" (we'll just call it that - I know it wasn't the first formulation under it's name) I thought I would do a comparative post.

Aside from aesthetics, there are a few things I notice right away. The original version claims to be a "light perfecting radiance foundation" which I would tend to agree with. The new formulation claims "pore blurring effect" and "invisible coverage." That's a big difference, in my opinion. The new formulation has also bumped it up from SPF15 to SPF20.

Miss Muddy 2016

Miss Muddy 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

This year, I'm proud to announce that I'll be taking part of Miss Muddy - a female only obstacle course to help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation. This year I'll be partaking with a group of other ladies set up by Bloggers United AU, which is good as I'm terrified of obstacle courses. Luckily, Miss Muddy isn't about who gets to the finish line first - it's about having fun, getting dirty and raising awareness for the McGrath Foundation, who supports breast cancer sufferers and survivors.

Bloggers United AU have also set up a fundraising page - so if you're exciting to see the many snapchats and Instagram posts of me getting muddy, covered in paint, and having lots of laughs with the other girls - then please donate. We really appreciate it, and it goes towards a fantastic cause that will help so many women.

Lush Cosmetics Haul

Lush Cosmetics Haul - Sweetaholic Beauty

Last Thursday evening, my good friend Kimberley from Pop-Couture (go check her out - she's awesome) and I decided to go on a bit of a Lush rampage. Kimberley wanted me to share a few of my Lush favourites with her, and in turn she tried to hold me back from buying the entire store. Nonetheless, I walked away with six new products and thought I would share my haul with you all.

We attended the Lush store in Melbourne Central - whilst on the smaller side, this is one of my favourite stores to frequent as it's usually well stocked and the staff are lovely. We were assisted by Prince Charming (we don't know his real name but we know he loves to sing ABBA songs) who was more than helpful in enabling all our purchases! I ended up with three bath bombs, a shampoo, a face wash and a face mask. Oops.

My Current Mascara Rotation

My Current Mascara Rotation - Sweetaholic Beauty

I'm a bit of a mascara hoarder, and usually I have about ten plus mascaras in my rotation. Over the past year I've been really winding down with my mascaras, trying to get the most out of them. I'm rather proud of bringing my every day mascara rotation down to just five tubes so I thought I might share my thoughts on my current mascaras.

I'll admit, it does irk me a little bit not being able to try the newest mascara as soon as it's released - but I know that this way just works best for me.

Zoeva Cosmetics Mixed Metals Eyeshadow Palette

Zoeva Cosmetics Mixed Metals Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches - Sweetaholic Beauty

Last week it was my birthday, so I decided to spoil myself and do some shopping at Sephora. Most things I wanted were sold out, but when I saw the Zoeva Cosmetics Mixed Metals Eyeshadow Palette, I splurged a little and grabbed it. (Sadly it was one of the only Zoeva Cosmetics palettes left in stock.) I had never tried this brand before either, so I was not too sure what to expect.

ZV2-1

I'm a really big fan of wearing metallic and shimmery shades, so this palette was right up my alley. I thought that a lot of the shades included were fairly unique and I probably didn't have a million dupes - unlike nude shades.

Priceline Hair Care Goody Bag

Priceline Hair Care Goody Bag 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

Every year, Priceline offer some absolutely amazing gift-with-purchase deals. Every February (or thereabouts) they do a huge sale on hair care products, and offer this amazing hair care goody bag if you purchase over $40 worth of eligible products. I have received this the last four years in a row and I've always been pretty happy to get some freebies.

January Favourites

January Favourites - Sweetaholic Beauty

Can you believe January is already over? It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the end of 2015. This new year has already been jam-packed for me; just a few days ago I welcomed my new nephew into the world -  I'm officially an aunt.

One thing I wanted to add to my blog this year was a monthly favourites. So many other bloggers do these kinds of posts, and they are one of my favourites to read; so why not write them too? I'm a creature of habit so you'll probably see a lot of repetitive products, but hopefully this will help me broaden my horizons a little bit.

It was so difficult choosing just a few products this month. I really sat down and thought about it, and finally came up with seven products that have really been stand-out products to me.

January Empties

January Empties - Sweetaholic Beauty

I can't believe how quickly the month of January flew by. My sister was supposed to become a mum in January - but that didn't happen! We were also supposed to find out when my partner would be admitted to hospital for his testing but due to a clerical error we need to wait another few months. Yeah I wasn't happy about that, especially when they keep telling us they're trying to get things done for us as quickly as they can as he is such a unique case. Either way, I did use up a few fun products this month.

Priceline Skincare Haul

Priceline Skincare Haul - Sweetaholic Beauty

Most beauty fanatics will know that late last week, Priceline held one of their epic 40% off skincare sales. That's right - 40% off. It's pretty hard to ignore that. Unfortunately for me, Priceline always seems to hold these sales when I'm working late, meaning it's impossible for me to get to a store before closing time. Online buying is not too bad, but waiting for your new goodies can be almost unbearable. This year I scouted my mum's help, who went in-store and picked up a few things for me.

I only ended up with five things as my skincare collection is already a bit over the top. I decided on just the necessities. Mostly.
