L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review - Sweetaholic Beauty

As a manga and anime lover, I was immediately drawn to the new L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara. With promises to help create big manga eyes, I knew I was going to love this mascara. I'd already seen this hyped up like mad online, with most people either loving it or hating it, and rarely a review in between. With that said, I had high expectations.

The packaging of the L'Oreal Miss Manga is just gorgeous and girly, yet still chic. I discovered that this actually comes in a few other shades (I may or may not have accidentally purchased a coloured shade the first time I tried to get my hands on this!) and I have since picked up a few of them, but I haven't had a lot of opportunity to test out thee other shades yet.

The brush itself was interesting to say the least. Take a close look, just under the actual applicator, there is a little bit of a bump which is where the wand actually bends. This is supposed to make applying the mascara easier, although I found it didn't help make it easier, yet didn't hinder my application in any way either. The brush itself is fairly nice, but I find that it gets almost too much product on the brush and with the bendy wand, it makes it hard to wipe the excess off in the tube before applying to your eyes.

No Mascara | One Eye | Full Mascara

As you can see, I first applied the mascara to one eye, to show the difference. Because of the excess mascara, it tended to create a more clumpy look. I know this is the point of the mascara, but if you see the second eye, it gives a more natural look as I used what was left on the wand, rather than putting it back in the tube for more product.

That being said, if you are able to get the excess off your brush before applying, this can be built up to give a very doll eye look. Although it gives that clumped up look, it doesn't look too spidery in my opinion. I was also thrilled to find that this did not smudge whatsoever - which is always a plus.

At the end of the day, I really like this mascara for myself. I don't mind if it goes a tad clumpy because I am looking for a heavier look when I use this mascara. But if you're not interested in that, then this mascara is not for you. After using it on several occasions I can now see why people are so divided. I am lucky to be blessed with long lashes, but I can see this being a huge pain to apply for shorter lashes, and would probably result in a messy look. I could even see that the flexible wand might make application harder for those with shorter lashes.

A beautiful mascara. Not for everyone, but worth a go.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara yet? If so, what are your thoughts? Do you love it or hate it?
