Blog Goals - 2016

Blog Goals of 2016 - Sweetaholic Beauty

We're almost there - Happy New Year!

This past year has been a trying and stressful one, but it's also been filled with some lovely memories. I have big plans for 2016 and can't wait to see what the New Year will bring.

A few things I'm expecting this year...

My sister will be welcoming her first son later on in January. This means I will be becoming an aunt for the very first time, and I am beyond excited. I can't wait to spoil my little nephew with love.

I'm rebranding Sweetaholic Beauty. I've already organised to get a brand new site template and I am excited and scared all at once. This should be happening in early January or whenever I get the time to sit down and get things moving. My writing style and photography style won't be changing, though, as I actually like where I am with that.

So what are my goals?

As this year has been so crazy, specifically with my partner being in and out of hospital a few times, I've really disappointed myself in terms of scheduling posts. In the past year, I'd basically planned my posts in my head, but never executed them until the day I was meant to upload them. Not this year - this year I am scheduling my posts ahead of time so I can put more effort and time into my actual content, without missing out on important things in life. Expect to see a more regular content from me this year.

I've also found that I have been lacking in my social media engagement. I absolutely love chatting on social media to readers and other bloggers, and this year I'll be trying my hardest to make sure I'm online more to actually chat.

Last but not least, my major goal is to ensure I am enjoying blogging. For a little while in the last year, blogging felt a little bit like a chore. If I stopped blogging while my partner was sick, I was worried that I would lose all my readers and never gain you back again. This year, if I feel like my heart is not in it, I'll be letting you all know why. Life is too short - do what makes you happy.

  1. I think you have a very loyal group of readers on your blog so you shouldn't be worried at all especially when life gets in the way. When blogging feels like a chore, that's when you won't enjoy it and that's not what you want. Remember to have breaks when you need them and if you don't get any content up at a particular time, no sweat! Happy New Year Jasmine!

  3. Nice blog goals. Don't be so hard on yourself though, for most of us, blogging is a hobby and sometimes real life just takes over. Your loyal followers will still be around for your next post xx

  4. I completely understand about enjoying blogging. Some days I love it and am completely inspired and then other times I think what's the point of putting my all into it when I have a million other things that I also need/want to do. Good luck with the blog change over :) xo

  5. Oh Jas, you had such a tough 2015, I think you definitely need to be a bit easier on yourself! I love checking in on your blog, and I think considering everything you went through, you did so brilliantly last year (also with Bloggers United!)
That being said, you know how much of an advocate I am for some goal setting, so I think it's awesome you are setting some goals for 2016.

  10. I think making sure you enjoy blogging is so important. I feel like a lot of people put so much pressure on themselves with their blog and while I can see where it's coming from, life is really too short! Plus I think my favourite blogs to read are always the ones where you can tell people really enjoy creating the content they put out :)

  20. Great blog goals Jasmine! I'm also trying to schedule out more posts ahead of time since I don't like finishing them up the night before, and I'm totally with you on the being more active on social media. I find I really have to force myself to interact (mostly because I forget or have no idea what to say), but it pays off in the end!
