The Perfect Red: Nails

The Perfect Red: Nails - Sweetaholic Beauty

Can you believe it's December already? My partner and I have had an awful year, so I'm really looking forward to the excitement of Christmas. To get things kicked off this year, I was considering the perfect red polish to wear for the big day. Whilst trying to decide for myself, I decided to share my top five picks for the perfect red nails.

I couldn't decide between finishes, so I ended up with a glitters, creams and shimmers. Surprisingly I ignored the matte finish - but hey it's Christmas. I want my nails to shine!

The Perfect Red: Nails - Sweetaholic Beauty

Essie After Sex, OPI Die Another Day, Zoya Chyna, Sally Hansen Dig Fig, Sally Hansen Cha-Ching

Two shimmer finishes, one cream finish and two glitter finishes. All of these are favourites from my red collection so it wasn't too hard to pick them out, but it will be a difficult decision when it comes to Christmas eve.

After Sex is a more blue toned and reminds me of wine a tad. Die Another Day was probably my first choice as it is such a bright and festive red. I love the no-hassle dry glitter finish of Chyna and actually wore this recently. Dig Fig* is such a beautiful and perfect red - my partner's recommendation. Cha-Ching is just plain gorgeous. I don't know how I'll pick between them!

So there you have it, my perfect red nail suggestions for this Christmas. All are gorgeous shades and excellent quality polishes. If you can get your hands on them, I would definitely recommend them.

Have you found the perfect red polish? If so, what is it called? Have you worn any of the above shades? Which shade is your favourite?

  2. I have so many red polishes that it's insane, haha.

I have a tiny bottle of Die Another Day that I've been only using on special occasions. It is one of my go to colors and I like to conserve it.

The Essie color I use is called Jag-U-Are, and it's similar, only it has more of a golden undertone to it.

China Glaze always has a great collection of reds that I love to use for special occasions. I just picked one up called Red Pearl, and it's very similar to the Die Another Day and Jag-U-Are.

The reason I like them so much is that they are very similar to my very first Chanel polish called Matador. Matador had a much more golden undertone than the other ones, and it had the longest lasting staying power. Unfortunately I do believe it's discontinued so after I scraped the last little bit out of the bottle that was it. I haven't been able to find a Chanel color that captures my heart as much as Matador did. I can find it on Ebay, I'm just not paying $100 for it. I'll splurge on some things, that is just way out of my league on treat yo self. I could get a Louboutin lipstick for that. Now THAT is a treat yo self.
