Collaboration - Beauty Through The Decades: Futuristic

This is a little bit out of my usual blogging schedule, but when I had the chance to take part in a super cool collaboration with a few other amazing bloggers, I jumped. Originally set up by gorgeous girl Barb from Fashionista in Suburbia, myself and five other bloggers have decided to bring you Beauty Through The Decades. The idea behind this is that we create a look based on a decade given to us. I had the job of creating a futuristic look - which was not at all daunting until I realised the world was my oyster and I had next to nothing to go on.

Seeing that I love my sci-fi and I specifically love anything with a dystopian future plotline, I decided to pull inspiration from one of my newer favourites; Mad Max Fury Road. I was specifically drawn to Charlize Theron's character.

I decided on a messy smoky eye and black eyeliner. I ended up opting out of using false lashes. I considered my look to be very basic and easy going, while still following some of the trends we're seeing today. Heavy and messy eyebrows, and just a slight contour. Dewy more natural skin, showing off freckles and beauty spots. Oh and just a light glaze on the lips.

I decided to make my eyes this messy as not only is it more in line with my inspiration, but to also show that the easy, five-minute makeup look doesn't look like something that's been blended for ten minutes. I also added liquid eyeliner to add definition to my eyes.

Overall, I feel like there could have been a million and one ways to do my makeup. I could have looked like an alien or a robot, but I chose a simpler look. Dystopian future is coming - are you prepared?

The lovely ladies that joined me in this challenge have also shared their stunning looks. Make sure you check them out as well:

We have:

Hopefully, you've enjoyed my dystopian future look. I loved all the other ladies looks as well so do make sure you have a look. This was such a great challenge to take part of - thank you to Barbe for organising and for all the other ladies for taking part and making this happen.
