It took me a few weeks to hunt down all the shades, as most stores had sold out by the time I got wind of the collection. The hardest shade to find was Quartz and All; probably being that it's the most wearable and neutral shade out of the four. I went through about four stores until I found it.
Swatches: Full Moon-Stone, Quartz and All, Em-Ruled City, To-Paz or Not To-Paz.
I was impressed with the pigmentation of these shades. After swatching I could see why Quartz and All was such a winner with the general public, as it truly is a gorgeous shade. I was particularly taken by To-Paz or Not To-Paz, which is the stunning deep blue.

My lip swatches are not amazing, so I do apologise. Full Moon-Stone was probably the most difficult to work with, as it did apply slightly sheer at first, but was able to be built up. I think this will make a great mixer shade for other liquid lip products and can't wait to start mixing. The other shades were incredibly easy to manage - even for a terrible lip swatcher lip myself - and looked gorgeous once applied. I was surprised at how wearable the darker shades were.

Overall, I'm a big fan of this collection. Whilst the shades may be intimidating at first, once you give them a go they're surprisingly easy to work with. Girls with darker skin tones will find the green and blue shades especially flattering.
Have you tried the Australis Cosmetics AC Gems Limited Edition Velourlips? If so, what are your thoughts? Which shade is your favourite?

I haven't tried the Velourlips yet and to be honest, the mixed reviews are a bit off putting. I do commend them on these daring shades though. I am semi tempted to pick up Quartz and All purely for mixing purposes (and possibly the white), but like you said, it's been sold out everytime I see the collection!

Seriously, I love Velourlips! I think that the shades in this range are out there, but so awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese colours are so cool!! Quartz and all looks like posh spice by jeffree star!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge Velourlips fan so I was excited to hear about new shades being released but when I saw them, I was a bit disappointed . . . I would have liked to have seen a few more wearables along with the really bold ones. Quartz and All looks quite similar to Lime Crime's Faded?
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try Velourlips for a while now, but I think I may stick to some more pink/red colours ;) hehehe I do like the brown shade though!
ReplyDeleteI think for the price point, these lip colors are pretty amazing! Trangles xoxo

I can understand it being off putting, I hear heaps of people dislike them so it's fair enough. xx
ReplyDeleteAw I'm so glad! I hear so many mixed reviews! xx
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous aren't they! xx
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about more wearable shades! I'm happy to see some out-there colours though, as usually they're really difficult to get! xx
ReplyDeleteHaha fair enough! I'm glad to see interesting colours becoming more available in our stores here in Aus! xx
ReplyDeleteI know right, I was pretty impressed! xx
