The Mystery Mascara*

MM4

A few days ago, I was sent a mystery mascara from Makeup Social to trial out. I love trying out mystery products, because it allows you to give a truly honest review, so you're not biased by any existing preferences. I was really excited to see that I received one of these in the post, because I have  sneaking suspicion I know who this mascara belongs to... but I'll speculate further on in the post, so keep reading!

MM1

I've been trialing this mascara for a few days now. Obviously I can't comment on the packaging, as it's completely unmarked for the moment. But I have high hopes for this one...

MM2

The wand is nicely curved to flow with the shape of my lashes, which is always a good thing. I noticed the beneath all the mascara, the wand is actually a pale pink. Hmm what brand do we know uses such pretty colours... I have a few ideas.

MM3

Left - Mascara (One light coat)
Right - No Mascara

I was very impressed when I first tried this out. I instantly saw my lashes lengthen and look more volumised, without looking too clumpy. With just one coat, I instantly saw a difference. I was really surprised at how light weight it felt on my lashes, which had to be a real standout for me. When I got to the second or third coat, it started to get a little bit clumpy, so if you're going to apply more than one coat, just have a clean mascara brush handy to brush it through.

Ahhh look how big and luscious my lashes look!

So... what did I think of the Mystery Mascara? I absolutely love it. This is the perfect every day mascara to give you that everyday glam look, which will also translate well into an evening look if you need to. The brush was really easy to work with, and the formula was excellent. I would definitely consider purchasing this once it's been released to the public.

So who does this Mystery Mascara belong to? Personally, I believe this may be the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara. The brush reminded me a lot of something I'd see at a Benefit counter, and the quality was excellent and something I'd expect from such a wonderful brand. I'll be finding out on March 2nd, so I can't wait!

Which brand do you think this belongs to? Do you think this looks like a good mascara?
