Roughly this time last year, Rimmel London released the amazing The Only One lipstick collection. With a huge range of twelve stunning shades, the beauty world had a new favourite lipstick. They are still my go-to lipsticks - even a year later. Now, Rimmel London has shocked us again with their gorgeous The Only One Matte lipstick range. Rimmel London The Only 1 Matte Lipstick Collection*
You can read my review on the original range here.
Featuring nine matte shades, this range shares the same packaging but in a stunning red tube. This range is relatively versatile, much like the first lot, ranging from lovely nudes to deep purples.
Leader of the Pink, Cal the Shots, Salute, Take the Stage, High Flyer, Trendsetter, Look Who's Talking, Run the Show, The Matte Factor
This range also shares the same lipstick design. I find these to be a bit difficult to apply due to the shape, so I have been opting for a brush. With the original range, because it was a traditional lipstick, not having such crisp lines was forgivable.
Leader of the Pink, Cal the Shots, Salute, Take the Stage, High Flyer, Trendsetter, Look Who's Talking, Run the Show, The Matte Factor
Again, like the original range, each shade is incredibly pigmented and easy to apply. For matte shades, I was impressed with the finish. It doesn't look dry at all.
Leader of the Pink, Cal the Shots, Salute, Take the Stage, High Flyer, Trendsetter, Look Who's Talking, Run the Show, The Matte Factor
My swatches were a tad messy as I didn't use a lip brush for my swatches, but I have been for my usual application. I was actually excited by the formula. I have tried a lot of matte products and rarely they are comfortable without a bit of prep. These babies just glide right on and sit tight all day - no dry patches or yucky lips afterwards.
--
The only downside - if you consider it to be - is the application. If you have a steadier hand than me you'll probably be fine but because my lips aren't exactly even, I do need the assistance of a brush. That aside, these lipsticks are incredibly gorgeous and I'm totally in love with each and every shade.
Have you tried the Rimmel London The Only One Matte Lipsticks? If so, what are your thoughts? Will you be picking up any shades?
