My Current Mascara Rotation

My Current Mascara Rotation - Sweetaholic Beauty

I'm a bit of a mascara hoarder, and usually I have about ten plus mascaras in my rotation. Over the past year I've been really winding down with my mascaras, trying to get the most out of them. I'm rather proud of bringing my every day mascara rotation down to just five tubes so I thought I might share my thoughts on my current mascaras.

I'll admit, it does irk me a little bit not being able to try the newest mascara as soon as it's released - but I know that this way just works best for me.

I'll also admit that I don't adhere to the three month rule. I know all the risks, but I also know how to take care of myself and my mascara. I always my face before applying makeup, and I never wear mascara when I'm feeling sick or off. I also rarely have any kind of eye problems, so I feel safe enough using my mascara a little longer than three months. If my mascara starts looking off, or smelling strange, or not working as well as it used to, then it gets the bin.

All mascaras but one are drugstore and are fairly cheap. I'm currently using the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Extreme Mascara*, the Australis Cosmetics Fierce Eyes Mascara*, the Covergirl Bombshell Volume Mascara*, the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara and the Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Volume Express Mascara. A few of these were originally sent to me, but they have been repurchased since.

Rimmel London, Australis, Covergirl, Estee Lauder, Maybelline

As you can see, all the brushes are rather different. This is probably why I have ended up with this rotation to be honest. I find that the Rimmel London and the Australis give the best curling action. The brushes are so easy to twist as you're applying due to the shape. The Covergirl gives the best volume in my opinion, as it actually has two ends (one is a primer). The Estee Lauder is my favourite to use for special occasions as it gives a nice false lash effect. The Maybelline is my all time favourite though as I feel it's a great balance between false lashes and natural lashes - it gives a perfect curl and holds all day, whilst still giving me volume.

As you can see, the Maybelline is actually the darkest shade of black, too, with the Covergirl actually being the lightest. The Rimmel London is very light and not too thick on the lashes which is great for every day usage.

A few of these mascaras lives are coming to an end, so sadly my rotation will be coming to an end soon. I will miss these, as I love them all, but I'll also be excited to try some new mascaras.

Have you tried any of the above mascaras? If so, what are your thoughts?
Do you have any suggestions for what mascaras I should try next?
