All mascaras but one are drugstore and are fairly cheap. I'm currently using the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Extreme Mascara*, the Australis Cosmetics Fierce Eyes Mascara*, the Covergirl Bombshell Volume Mascara*, the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara and the Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Volume Express Mascara. A few of these were originally sent to me, but they have been repurchased since.
As you can see, all the brushes are rather different. This is probably why I have ended up with this rotation to be honest. I find that the Rimmel London and the Australis give the best curling action. The brushes are so easy to twist as you're applying due to the shape. The Covergirl gives the best volume in my opinion, as it actually has two ends (one is a primer). The Estee Lauder is my favourite to use for special occasions as it gives a nice false lash effect. The Maybelline is my all time favourite though as I feel it's a great balance between false lashes and natural lashes - it gives a perfect curl and holds all day, whilst still giving me volume.
As you can see, the Maybelline is actually the darkest shade of black, too, with the Covergirl actually being the lightest. The Rimmel London is very light and not too thick on the lashes which is great for every day usage.
Have you tried any of the above mascaras? If so, what are your thoughts?
Do you have any suggestions for what mascaras I should try next?

The struggle is so real, right? I have about 5 tubes on the go at the moment too, and I'm dying to open a few others!
ReplyDeleteThese are great I really love Maybelline mascaras!

I've only tried Bombshell out of the above and the wand was too thick and short to work with for me. CoevrGirl have a new one called the Super Sizer which I LOVE! Give that one a try!!

My favourite Tarte Lights Camera Lashes has dried up so that's disappointing! I'm currently rotating between Maybelline Lash Sensation for every day, Essence Lash Princess for more dramatic lashes (SUCH good value) and NYX mascara in blue for when I feel like it.
ReplyDeleteThe mascara obsession is real! I am loving Covergirl and Max Factor for my mascaras right now :) And Maybelline as always <3

I've taken your approach and stick to having no more than 4 or 5 mascaras in rotation at the same time to save room on the bathroom bench as much as getting the best wear out of them. I've tried the Rimmel and the EL which I also love, although unfortunately the current tube will be my last as it's not cruelty free.
ReplyDeleteThanks! This is one of the only ones I've tried but I'm keen to try more now! xx
ReplyDeleteIt definitely saves room too haha! Ohh yes how exciting going cruelty free! Do you have any mascaras lined up? xx
ReplyDeleteOhhh I need to try me some Max Factor ones.. it's one brand that I tend to miss when shopping haha xx
ReplyDeleteAwww no it's so sad when they dry up. Ohhhh I'm adding all of those to my try list ;) xx
ReplyDeleteIt is super short isn't it! Like weirdly short haha. I made it work for me but I can definitely see how it would be a pain for others. Ohhh I wanna try that now! xx
ReplyDeleteSeriously five is not enough bahahaha xx
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love the EL mascara..)

I really like Rimmel's scandaleyes mascara, it's gives my lashes a nice lift. But I've been doing the no-mascara and no foundation biz for the past week... eep
